Have to live up to a promise
Posted May 21, 2005
Well than I want to be honest and tell about the events as they happened: it was a stormy operation in my Computer Room!
After the components all arrived by mail, by plane, by car by electronic transfers my friend an engineer ( married with children)
started the installation of Microsoft XP software. But there was a most attractive Big Screen new monitor also. Adding 256 MB memory brought in a bright outlok for the future some times..... later to come.
Prior to this I disconnected everything but marked with color coding the conglomerate of wires, turned the table, desk everything around for my liking.
But the installation did not go easy and everything was blamed on me.
It was all right, because I don't take things seriousely.
Finally my friend just grabbed my lap-top and took it with him as he stormed out while I was laughing my head off( american slang).
Actually I was happy to get rid of the computer, because than I would have free time to do the things in busy Spring time.
Days went by I did not miss the machine, but eventually it came the time to realize that I have this PC for other things too beside having fun at h2g2!
A week later my friend came back with the newly loaded PC and we got down again to see what is what?
After a good load of blame on me again he left me here in my newly created PC room and the peace and quite times started to return.
But not so when I saw my PC as an "alien" what arrived from a galaxy!
No need to say: I could not find many things I was used to, and Don't Panic I was locked out from my h2 house!
Fortunately E-mail was saved and contacting h2g2 Support I was let in to be able to complain to my friends!
It is true: any conversion with a highly elaborate computer system always will have "bugs" to work on till one can enjoy "the promised land". Because everything is there--- like in life--- only one has to know how to get to it? Call a child, but don't know the name, look up a word in a dictionary but you don't know the spelling etc.
The best part is thet I got back the easy way to h2g2 MY SPACE.
Slowly but surely with lot of investigation I find the missing things like today " Word Art" was coming home.
My Nikon operation did not suffer much, it is smootly putting photos into the Nikon Picture folder. That is important because of my picture language.
WORD does the usual way crazy things, however I can get hold of it now!
Left alone and forced to find out things I grew a lot in my self-confidence and the usual scolding from my friend subsided. I convinced him, that he is sick from the pollen like everybody else and I am not the source of his subject to blame.
The exciting discovery in Microsoft XP goes on....

Who is on line?
Posted Apr 3, 2005
Where I am in the Middle of the Earth is Sunday afternoon and it is Daylight Savings time since today.
5 PM = 17:00 in other way saying that from here to the East or to the West are different time zones.
At this time ( MY TIME) well over 100 people are on line to let you know that they are at their PC because this is the best they can do on a Sunday afternoon or Midnight or what ever time is there.
The question is open: What are we doing at this time at a PC?
Couple of people are doing the usual thing: COMPLAINING about what is handy to be unhappy with. Mostly the weather giving the problems.
Than family, friends etc. But a great deal of time is spent:lurking, reading, answering in conversations etc. What else? Let us know.
Yeah: it is very smart to be at a PC on a sunday. A wonderful day.
Now I go off line, see you the next time when I come back to this little "talking" ( to me) machine. Blue Bird

Everybody is sad
Posted Apr 2, 2005
The World lost a great man. He was good and He just radiated His goodness on everybody. He loved everybody and everybody loved Him. He was uniquely wonderful with many exceptional talent and He made all the effort to share it with the World.
He will be missed but His legacy will live on.
The World is waiting who can follow on the path?
Only the human body dies, but not the Spirit! His Spirit His Love, His Smile will stay with us. bird

Updated my introduction
Posted Mar 15, 2005
The usual way: Times change and we change with it! = Tempora mutandus et nos mutamur in illis.(latin from ancient times) ( It is possible that my latin is not that perfect!)
Or: One can not step into the same river twice. It is understandable that changing your introduction is just so natural. Is'n it?
I also posted this axiom in AWW and will send it to to let you know in wide circles about the changing world ( just in case you forgot to follow up!)
