Oh, I am so happy to see Tommy Mac: you are back. I changed from Jung Wing wearing a name of a lizard: G E C K O.
I remember when you had a long conversation with Ancient Brit! That became a classic! It certainly was the funniest entries. Suppose it will be in THE BOOK OF THE FUTURE.
OK young at heart Friend(S)( body + mind = young at heart)= ( that is us ) in any case: Spring is here. Now where is Ancient Brit???
We always look for each other.
What kind of a computer did you get Tommy? I wish I could find people to whom I could send some pictures. 1 picture = 1000 words.
So far over the Pond have not much luck. Here in my place USA have no limitation to transmit pictures.
I struggeld a lot with GML, but I got to going my Home Page=
( Personal Page) I am working on it every day. More and more Episodes will be added.
Please write, I will look under the heading: Im back.. Gecko

Hello new person Gecko
No No /the computer is fine . It is my poor old fuddled brain which cannot keep up with it ,but I do my best.
I havent seen Ancient Brit for a while ,I do hope he is allright. He is two years older than me you know (poor old soul).
He accuses me of always chatting up the ladies ,so if he sees this it may bring him out of his shell.
Stay well .

my Dear Gecko
If you get the chance go into and join in the conversation 'A NEW WORD GAME-NEVER ENDING STORY' on 'Book of The Future' .You can get in from this site .
It is quite mad but absolutely wonderful and so much fun .
You may have to read from the beginning to find the crazy humour before taking part yourself. It is totally mad.

Thanks dear Tommy to show up on the "stage"? Yeah I say: stage, because we play some times, many times a role here.
Quickly I reply to my " new person" role: This will be a Guide Entry if I get to it.
It just so happens that for a woman to change the name used to be very frequently happen so, that one gets married. (It happend to me-- more than once.)
Do you realize that for a married woman only one letter is left for her name the letter S after MR.???? That is all: Mrs. X.Y.with full name of the husband.
Like I say: I am planning to elaborate on this, though I am definetly NOT a feminist.
To change my name at h2g2 was mainly the indication: the Columbia tragedy. I did not want to have a wing anymore. Particularly because I myself was a co-pilot for 15 years in a Beachcraft Debonair! Now you know everything.
Being an artist one must have a steady name like Elizabeth Taylor even if she was married 8+ (?) times. I sign my name with my maiden name on my paintings. Needless to say: was very annoying to my husbands.
We certainly learn a lot in these pages about each other lifes!
Thank you for calling my attention to The book of the future.
I am always having problems to find things and people etc. I don't even know how did that started, because the first time I saw it on the Home Page of BBC, not in h2g2! The title was: STANDING ROOM ONLY! I replyed, but not in h2g2. It seems this is a huge ground of investigation. Very interesting.
If I can not find what you referring to, I shall come back with the question: where is it?
So where is Ancient Brit? I just found out, he is not a newbie at all. He wrote article back in august 2002, I saw the other day. It seems that you joined not so long ago and you are still a newbie? That is why Ancient Brit wanted to help you, but he said you were more interested.... well what ever, you know better than me.

I am not sure if you can get it in the States.but you can try ,its www.bbc.co.uk/bookofthefuture.com
Hopefully you will find it .it is great fun.
As for ancient Brit's accusation that I am more interested in chatting up the ladies ,I suppose there is some truth in it. I have always been a terrible flirt and you cant teach an old dog new tricks .

Hi Tommy: I got to the Book of the Future and they say they will E-mail it to me. I don't understand this fully, but the truth is I did register at BBCi long before I came to h2g2. They did not ask me for my E-mail,- since they have it.
.
Do you have it through h2g2? Because I could not get it from there.
How is life and the most important theme: the WEATHER up there in the North?
You know here is a Snow Storm coming tomorrow to the Tri-State area!!! (New York, New Jersey Connecticut.) It is April my Dear!
No need to go to Alaska!
Well than: it's OK to flirt,--it is invigorating body and soul! You must have a very kind agreeable wife. I am happy to hear that.

Hello Gecko,
I'm another one of Tommy's friends from Book of the Future. I've been following your conversations with Tommy and AB; if your still having problems getting to Book of the Future, click on my name or Tommy's name to go to our personal spaces and then click on the conversations at the top left of the page - most of those are in BotF, so they will take you straight there. The e-mail you got was probably to register you to receive information about who's going to be in the book when it's published.
Hope this is helpful Chris

Now I will look for more interesting things on the Web!
For Tommy: Listen to me: I have a very nice Lady here, next door I told you. She needs a little time, her husband just left her. She is from Scotland, very pretty only 50+.---
I am OK as I am--- long distance is fine. Don't be jelous,--- I have many friends and everybody is TABU; THE BASIS FOR EVERLASTING FRIENDSHIP. Gecko

Thanks for the invitation ,but you must tell your lady friend I will have been happily married for 49 years on the 22nd of next month,(May) so as much as I hate to,I will have to disappoint her.
Being a flirt is just part of my nature ,I just cant help myself .Give her my love in any case .If she is Scottish, tell her she is still in with a chance .
By the way Gecko .You really must'nt stop the never ending story .It has taken on a life of its own since it began and who knows where it will lead .Why dont you throw in some ideas of your own ? It really is crazy and hopefully with your help it will get crazier still.

Tommy Mac: dear Friend We have 2 " items" here to get into proper shape.
The Lady is my neighbor ( we live in houses here). She is Scottish and her husband died suddenly just a few weeks ago. My mentioning was totally on " joking" basis. She is involved with the sad event.---Furtunately she has 3 grown children, so she is not alone, though they don't live together at this age. I don't have close connection being a friend, just say Hello, how are you, that is all. I never mentioned about you.
2-nd item: The Book of the Future written in 2003 should not get involved with a 19th century subject of the Perpetum Mobile. I really don't have any objection to play any play any time with any body,-- but the Game of the words is very very old idea. When it came into "focus" in the 19th Century-- I suppose was based on new scientific discoveries. But Johann Strauss also made fun out of it, it is a fast moving music, very witty, until the orchestra and the conductor gives up!!! ( Everybody is laughing.)
Now I have the answers. My participation was like the collapsing orchestre with Strauss Perpetum Mobile.Have no intention to "bud" in.
With British wit and humor I am familiar through Monty Python and the like to be thrilled. Have a good time, I have work to do.I will not put an "end" to the game. Keep in touch. Gecko

Please pass my condolences on to your friend .I really didnt know and I am sorry if I may have seemed too jocular at this sad time .
Sometimes my mouth speaks before my brain is in the proper gear.
The Never ending story is just good fun and I am glad you are familiar with British humour .
But AH? are you familiar with Scottish humour ? A totaly different concept. Och Aye !! Love from

Listen to me Tommy Mac: thanks for your msg. The Lady next door is OK.
Unfortunately they did not have a good time for a long time.
The man was-- sort of a " weak" personality, and needed a dominaring woman. But deep down - not aware of this --- he resented it. Worked hard as a blue collar worker and after work off to the bar. Smoking, drinking came to his help: ultimately killed him, perhaps longing for peace.
With my long study in psychology on her request: I presented to her what the situation is. But the process could not be helped. He just did not weak up one morning. Mercyful dead! He was 65.---
She is OK. But as I said: we never had friendship here, so just the same, say Hello, and everything is the same.
Her father lived about 94 years, he died in Glasgow couple of years ago. Sometimes came to visit, he was a very nice man.
No, I don't know anything about scottish humor, less the language.
The lucky thing here is that we write. Speaking to each other would be: neighter of us would understand a word! When I went to London a few times: I could be anywhere else, because generally we did not understand each other, only with well educated people.
So much for the english. The accents are tremendous. Geck
Plse write, teach me scottish everyrthing.

Hey, that is a very good idea! Very nice too. I brought up the scottish web site. I scrolled down and came back to tell you. But I will have to have some time to study, though doubt that I will learn to speak. Heather is the name of the Lady next door,--- she does not have ANY accent in american speaking. She must have come here very young. I never ask questions.
Anyway I'll do a little scottish study.
I am going now to pick up my car: the Christmas Day demage by the city snowplow just was fixed. For Easter! That is the way the city is here. But got the money and that is what counts and my car will look nice again.
I'll get back to you, thanx. Gecko
