Hi Mac,
I'm sitting up because it is finally cool, reading the guide and watching the Aus Open tennis and the tri-series cricket. Not sure if you'll be please to hear that England just beat Sri Lanka.

Believe where it came from! I'm pretty sure it's for real.
As for the heat we've been too worried about the fires to worry about the heat. My friends have lost their house but they are all in one piece and fully insured so I have little to worry about compared to many here in Canberra. Catch you again when I get my home computer going again.

Hi Waz,
I'm doing pretty well. I'm on holidays for about a month so may be pretty eratic about coming to Hootoo. I'm looking forward to Easter because this is the first time we've bought Easter eggs and things for my daughter because now she sees ads and goes "mmm yummy Easter eggs".
I'm still sneezing - 9 Thursdays in a row - is there a record? I think it is related to all the other silly things that are wrong with my body. Don't worry, I'm not actually sick besides the colds.
The most exciting thing I've done lately is play in our local Legacy concert and I don't think many people would actually find that exciting. We are, however, planning to go away after ANZAC day (April 25). We'll be going down to the coast, to a small zoo where you can get fairly close to the animals and we'll spend a day or two building sandcastles and things. Then we will leave the munchkin with her Grandma and have a few days to ourselves - unbelievable!! I bet we spend a lot of our time wondering what she's doing.

Hi Waz,
I haven't been on my holiday yet (next Sunday -yay) but I've been offline too. I've just spent a few days curled up in bed with a box of tissues and the Dirk Gently series. Feeling all right now as long as I'm not trying to cope with dozens of children at a Playschool concert. It was also a good chance to reaquaint myself with some Douglas Adams - although for some reason I actually think about Kate and Thor every now and again anyway. Quite an impact for a book I read over 10 years ago. There I go rambling again.
Catch up again soon,
Ythika

ythika,
hope you feell better later matey...
as i write this i realise i have'nt checked your space for a while,do you like fantasy novels like tolkien etc,if you do i could recommend an extremely good read...

I'm pretty picky about my fantasy novels. I like Tolkien and - my brain has just gone to sleep - trying to think isn't good for it. And I like the slightly off-centre fantasy like Pratchett and another author whose name escapes me. I haven't read a lot of pure fantasy. I'm not sure why but when I do read it I tend to enjoy it.
My general rule on reading tends to be if someone else thinks it's great there is a good chance I will at least think it's worth a go. I find this method works pretty well and I haven't found myself bogged down in a book too often. This system works especially well when whoever recommends the book also lends it to you. This also explains the mystery novel phase that I am going through with my mother. She assures me it's just a phase but it has lasted a good number of years so far. I guess phases get to be longer as you get older.

Hi Waz,
I'll keep an eye out for them. Anything that someone else thinks is good enough to recommend must be worth a look.

The youngun has been an angel today until my friend's hubby turned up to sort out my computer for me. First problem was the USB's at the front of the puter weren't connected to the MB. Problem the second, the USB at the back of the stupid thing had a bit of plastic over the top of it so it wasn't obvious that it was there. Problem no. 3 he wasn't reading the instructions so that once problems 1 & 2 were sorted it took a lot longer to fix the rest. But I am very happy as we now have our photos off the camera and on the puter where we can play with them. Biggest problem was the littly wanting "Joshua's Daddy"'s attention.
Now we have the camera sorted I'm really looking forward to getting away - and Joshua's Daddy and probably Joshua will be getting a good pressy.
And as for tired... I am... I kept coughing last night and couldn't get much sleep pout pout
Catch you,
Ythika
