well i made the mistake of trying to step out of my comfort zone, and wrote a sci-fi peice.

Jim, I have really enjoyed reading your story and I like the way you descriped the setting and how the alien talked and the background to the visit.

no you go way out, its just me, i wanted to do something different for the post, a section on a story on any subject, with a twist most time.

In Stargate both people from earth and they alien visitors both exchange goods, technology and services.

I always thought if we made first contact, we would have to have built a warpdrive/hyperdrive engine space craft like in Star Trek First contact and meeting inquistive aliens who want to know about us. The film did not say what the Vulcans offered Dr. Zahprine Cochraine when they first met him.

if they exsist out there, and we did, maybe long after we are dead and buried, make contact, it would be when earth as the technology to be acsepted.

and it would be on earth, not out in space. warp drive is imaginary, mac one as its called isnt, but then even the laser was something in films.

Hi Jim

I have been on to the NASA and the bbc sky at night sites and they have suggested ramjet engines, and even solar sails and other ideas that cannot remember. They are trying to find technology of travelling in space fast but having to go around the problem that nothing can travel faster than light. I wonder how future generations will overcome that obstacle.
