Signature Quandary
Posted Feb 17, 2006
I'm in a new quandary over my signature (s'OK)
Terri has a phobia about jabs and I guess that Madam_Cone may have one too, although she didn't express herself so forcefully.
I don't suppose that my original sig, as suggested by lil and Bel - Jab - would be any better?
I don't want to cause anyone any distress, least of all my friends. So let me try these on you - please let me have your opinions again folks (sorry)
jbk
wok
woks
......and I'll add
Jab
and
Jab - this one's Jabster in German or Dutch.
Sorry to go on about me like this, but it shows I was right to consult you and not steam ahead. It would still be open to you to call me Jabs or Jab or Jabber or Jabster or any of these if we finally do settle - would that be right, MC and Terri? It's just a matter of my signature.
You all know me by now - do any of these seem to you to fit me better than the others?
I need your help cos I'm about to have an identity crisis!

I've decided to try signing off as Jabs from now on. 'J' is just not friendly enough. What do you think?

The Alternative Chain Story
Posted Jan 12, 2006
For anyone who feels stimulated by the serial in and wants to have a go. No real rules, except please no vulgarity or repetitious fighting. Contributions can be of any length, and should end with '...' to enable continuation. I'll start us off with the beginning as it appears in
, with thanks to Langly and Lil for their bits. Take it away, folks:

To all intents and purposes, everything was normal. But then there was a shuffling, walking, running kind of sound outside, a murmur from the foot of the stairs and a sudden, insistent knocking on the door. Somebody or something was in a furious hurry. Clarence was very surprised when he...
... heard the murmur. He hadn't realised that stairs had feet and, furthermore, that they could talk (or at least murmur). Shivering at the sudden cold as he hauled himself out of bed, he shambled across the room to the door. He reached up and was just about to pull the bolt across when...
... Clarence noticed a light shining under the door. He stepped back as the door handle turned. He was just about to call out when...
...the clock struck seventeen and the room turned into some kind of...
