Greetings Jabberwock, it has been a while since we crossed paths.
In the meanwhile I thought up a new answer to why a raven is like a writing desk...
A: because neither of them can play a DVD.
I still like the story( probably false) that Lewis Carroll original wrote the question "Why is a reven like a writing desk, and some copy editor corrected the spelling thus eliminating the possible answer that a reven was never backward (read letters in reverse order) and that went for early model writing desks as well.
