Amen to that. And I think eating ham and cheese on top of it was a grand touch - which is what I was doing, btw, during it, bar the rye bread, of course.
I like the pro and anti coke factions, as well.

well there is no accounting for taste. We just opened one box of of coke. Did you manage to score any at the grocery store?

Yes, I got another box of coke - and I got you some more oranges, or tangerines, or whatever those are. I got meat and veg, and soup stocks and canned veggies and creamers. I think we're set up.

Hi. Went back to bed at 7, just got up a bit ago. I didn't want to - I need vitamins, quick, but I'll have to eat first. I have an intense desire to to go right back to bed.
I'm sure nobody sent you the report Herriot sent the Captain, so here it is -

Re: Ikea
Sir,
I have been advised to inform you that I was assaulted and robbed while on shore leave on Ikea. The assailants took a small amount of money, but mostly seemed intent on hurting me and my dining companions, with whom I was just leaving the restaurant. They also took some items of religious significance and our papers, leading us to believe that the incident was religiously motivated. It was reported to the Humpback police, who made a note for their records, and to the Fushal embassy when we went to request new ID.
I would be grateful if a note could be made in the file on Ikea to alert future travellers to this problem, which is unfortunately common on many planets.
Respectfully,
Edward Herriot, Assistant Veterinarian, CSS Mariposa

Thanks for sending it to me. I'll reply to it now. I,m sorry you feel like going to bed again. Tell them you will be off EARLY TONIGHT because of MY insistance. They can take it up with ME, OKay?

I'm glad. We'll turn them off and watch a Quatum Leap or two maybe, if you'd like.

Arcturan advisory for easy reference -
To: All aboard the CSS Mariposa
Re: Arcturus
Arcturus complex is one of the main anchoring points of Confederation space. Its space stations contain -
- the Galactic Court
- Starfleet HQ West, including the offices and courts of the Judge Advocate General
- Arcturan penal colony
- the reception area for new arrivals from the temporal rift, with reassigment offices
- and, of course, fully staffed concourses where duty-free shopping is available for your convenience. All major credit cards accepted.
Notes of interest -
The Arcturan system consists of over 6,000 planetoids and asteroids, the largest of which approximates Pluto in the Sol system. None are habitable.
The star Arcturus (Alpha Bootis) is a K1 giant star (orange) which emits considerable energy in the infrared. Although the space station complex, which orbits the sun at two standard distances, is far enough away from the star that there is no danger, it is advised to limit exposure on the observation decks - where the star will appear as brightly as a sun would from a planetary surface. Sunbathing is permitted on the observations decks. Use sunscreen and limit your stay to two hours at one time.
A point of interest for observers will be, of course, the Arcturan Star Gate - the primary entrance to the Confederation stargating system, and the apparent reason for so many dislocated time refugees turning up here.

A note for Old Earthers - Arcturus is 37 light years away from where Earth used to be.
The Mariposa will be docked at Starfleet HQ, Arcturus Station A - there are four, guess what the other three are called - and shuttle service will be available for those with business on the other three stations.
http://mario.lapam.mo.it/ds9/gifs/ds9-3.jpg
For those who wish recreation, there will be free access to the facilities of Arcturus Station A - exits are through the Docking Bay Area, to the right and left of the shuttle bay. Epasses are required - there will be a security check at the door.
There are no advisories or warnings to issue. This is a Confederation/Starfleet faciity. Decorum is to be observed, and proper uniforms worn, but otherwise behave as you do aboard ship.
Mariposa crew are advised to approach tame Gaels with caution.
Respectfully,
Rory Donahue

Re: Your Stay at Arcturus Station A
Richard -
Glad to see you've finally made to civilisation - or what passes for it around here, anyway.
Congratulations on your successful mission to Ikea. Bringing a new Merovingian monarch to the throne is a coup for the Mariposa.
Aurora and I will be expecting to dine with you sometime during your stay. And we hope you'll bring Jamison along, and that mate and cub of his, too - Aurora would like to see them.
Yours,
Anthony Hawkins, Admiral, Starfleet Sector West

I've been so fleissig, I don't know myself. Now I'm going to make myself some lunch.
My dad called - Sue's having cataract surgery tomorrow, but they don't see worried about it. It will just be all day, and tedious.
I sent out about six applications.
And Tav's working on a letter to Sharpe. And giggling about Elektra. Read her conversation in the warren - it's a hoot.
She may be awhile - I think her dad was going to borrow her computer, and he's non-tech.
And I've successfully loaded a song Mala sent onto your mp3 player.

Re: stay on the Mariposa
Dear Captain,
Would it be possible for me to stay on the Mariposa untill my parents can get me home? They should soon be in the Rigel system with their tardis, at least that is what my father said some weeks ago. If I cannot stay here I would have to go back to the Avenger.
If that is possible, could I maybe also get one of the guest quarters? I don't want to bother my cousins any longer, although it is very nice to stay with them.
Thank you very much.
Yours,
Tavaron Gheorgheni
I just put it here to save it from the monster blog.
