Hey, nice to meet you. I'm several thousand miles away Northwest of you in beautiful sunny Canada.
First of all- you sound interesting and intelligent, why think less of yourself?
Secondly as an old f**t I envy your interest and attention to History. Sometimes I think I have lost the ability to learn anymore.
Last- you liked Stan Rogers! Makes you an A+ as far as I am concerned.
Stay stirred but not shaken.

Got the AbFab DVDs? They have lots of great extras. Did you see the latest one? It was on CBC here but I think it was also on some PBS stations.
Are your studies all Roman or anything else? Lately I have been interested in Viking stuff (Eric the Red visits Newfoundland, etc.).

my concentration in college was roman history from Agustus to Nero. i don't know much about viking history, although i am interested in norse mythology.

That sounds like the best period to study. When did the Christians show up? I know Nero dealt with them but did the Big A?
(Ignore Saturnine, she'll complain if you journal lurk but she does it all the time. Oh, and don't mention Nero and the burning thing, she has a bit of a fixation with fire.......as in she loves it.)
The Viking expansion is fascinating to me, they travelled to North America and as far East as Turkey. That's just what we can prove, there are indications they may have made it to India and North Africa.

that's cool. the messiah was supposed to be the friend of emperor claudius (herod agrippa, not the infamous king herod) but at the same time as herod agrippa was running around calling himself the messiah Jesus was performing miracles. nero was emperor following claudius. it was mostly dealings with the jews for agustus, tiberius, and caligula. ah, nice to flex my historical muscles once in a while thank you for the chance
