When you get that far down your list:
1) Disks should hardly ever need de-fragmenting. I think I've done it once in about 8 years.
2) Anti-Virus...before you shell out for Norton or something, there are free packages available. Give me a shout and I'll do some digging.
3) You also need something called a Firewall - especially if you're permanently on Broadband. Basically, it stops people pinging your computer unless you want them to, and stops malicious software sending stuff out. You can get a free one at http://www.zonelabs.com.
Amuse-toi bien!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
