Hi terri, please don't leave. Besides the fact that I would miss you terribly, your Eyes thread is a gathering place for a lot of people, and they need you. Even if you do sort of leave, please keep the Eyes going.

Hi JEllen. yes; it's a difficult one this & one that has been reducing me to tears to be honest. I have several factors to consider:

Hootoo is very important to me as a personal place to socialise & i spend lots of time on here, more than most of you may realise, just lurking. If I wasn't on here i would find that space difficult to fill.

As an ACE, i am not the sites most active in terms of grabbing newbies, but the ones i *do* grab tend to stick around & become valued members of the community. But being an ACE carries responsibilities too, one of which is being seen to agree with "official" decisions & i just can't get my head round this one. i totally understand why it was done, but it isn't working & my personal opinion is that they need to rethink.

Maybe the best answer is just to hand my ACE badge in...but ACE's are a bit thin on the ground right now & there is quite a bit of undercover policing stuff that needs constant monitoring.

I am honestly hoping that it may end up like the French Government realising that the people really, really, really didn't like the "young people in Mc Jobs" scheme & were forced to repeal it.

I'm feeling very sad about all this & if the overwhelming emotion when coming on here is sadness or anger, i can't do it. I have enough of that stuff in RL, i have to safeguard a little bit of sanity.

Three factors for me are 1)I like the people here for the most part 2)it's free, very important on my budget, and 3)I'm avoiding someone at Live Journal, so that would not be a good alternative.

Of course I do not have the added burden of aceing like you do. I think it's fine to continue aceing while STILL disagreeing with some of the new policies.

Of course I want you to be safe and happy, and want hootoo to be a haven for you, not a hardship. I care about you.
