Raspy

I am compiling a Penny and Mills companion, with guides to each story, I have done Trap of the Daleks using the notes we made on it on the notes section in our guide on h2g2. But I need more notes for the other stories, little help?

Okey-dokey

CHEKAWOWE

I have to admit that when I first suggested the title of Chekawowe I wasn't one hundred percent sure what Chekawowe would turn out to be. I knew that it would be one of three things:

1) A character

2) A planet or location

3) Something else

I knew it was going to be a tough challenge to follow up on the success of Trap but we ploughed ahead anyway. The strange thing about Chekawowe is that out of all of our stories it is probably the one that would be easiest to realise on television as the planet featured - which I have a sneaking suspicion may actually be Kanderaan - could so easily be filmed in a quarry!

I'll add some more notes on Chekawowe later Martin

Thanks Mike, I dont need that many more for Chekawowe since we have a few in our notes section and I will add a few as I go along. I could do with a few more for Enigma though?

OK then.

At heart Enigma is a bit gimmicky, no strike that, at heart Enigma is very gimmicky. However, in my eyes I don't see this as a problem, in fact I'd say it's the story's main strength. I say it's gimmicky because it has Rasputaltron assembling the Doctor's old foes to capture his first seven incarnations. But I do like the story, I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's one of my favourites but it has some good bits in there. The Fifth Doctor's episode is probably my favourite as it is light-hearted and doesn't take itself to seriously.

The last few episodes where all of the Doctor's are united I am ratehr proud of as well. This is the first instance where Rasputaltron is actually being controlled by some higher power and I think that works rather well with the character. Raspy is a meglomaniac but he isn't so almighty and powerful that he is indestructible (though he may seem so at some times). I used to dislike his portrayal in Enigma but it's begun to grow on me and aside from Trap, this is probably my favourite story to feature him.

Thanks Mike, much obliged!

So are you enjoying the Zero War?

Chekawowe and Enigma are pretty much covered now, thanks. However I find that I have ran out of notes for Trap of the daleks part 5, so anything you could add there would be useful.

Thanks.

Yes I am enjoying The Zero War Martin, a nice change from the sorts of stories we tend to write.

I'll have to reread Trap 5 before replying though

Rightio then, I will. Have you considered getting yourself a Hotmail account Mike, if you got Msn we could have much more detailed discussions about our stories. Just a thought, only last time I asked you you were having computer problems or email problems...or something.

I've tried it a couple of times but my computer doesn't seem to like it. I shall be rereading Trap 5 tonight so I can post some thoughts on it.

I'll get back to you about the Raspy image when I post my thoughts on Trap 5 as I can only view it on my Dad's computer (software and all that). Also, in MOAAN Port is played by Joseph Fiennes and DeWindsor by Martin Clunes (both as they were in Shakespeare in Love).

Can we bring DeWindsor along for the Quest as well? Something about protecting his assetts in Port's plays or something...

Fair enough, that will be some more actors to add to my wallpapersmiley - winkeye
I imagine Worlak to be played by Brad Dourif by the way, the guy he plays Wormtounge in the Lord of the Rings Movies.

That reminds me, I really must look up the name of that chap who plays Ethan Forbes...

For Mhssca/Nhssca/Oscar you can put in Angelina Joley (recently rewatched the Tomb Raider Movie and thougt how good she'd be in the part).

Just reread Trap 5, I particularly like the apocalyptic feel to the whole episode. The battle scenes are particularly enoyable looking back. However, there are a number of aspects that dissappointed me, the Rani just explaining her plan to the Doctor for no apparent reason being my major gripe. The ending (with the Doctor resetting time) is perhaps a little tacky but it was obviously the only way that it could be concluded. And I am still very proud and Martin and my work on the final scenes between the Doctor and Flavia.
