Yeah, the upgrade seems to improved the whole system a bit -- but not much. smiley - cheers

The upgrade has made using this site via digibox a nightmare aka. It repeats letters n it seems to have a mind of its own. If i didn't live with my parents i would've bought a pc a lo long while ago. I'll be honest i don't like using thing this site via digibox but i don't have many friends in RL n the people on here make me happy n less depressed so what am i to do? I hope you understand that mate. I don't intentionally abuse this its my only contact with the real world. If i didn't go on here i would be chronically depressed.

And I understand that. Really, I sympathise (Without being patronising, I hope) with people who do not have access to a PC at home, but there is free access out there. And who knows? Maybe Telewest will find a chatsite for all those who do abuse the site, and bring out free Internet access afterall. That would be an ideal situation.

I can't say I can see it happening though.

I've just been to the digibox to check the Activemail, but the second LED is flashing, thus meaning it's not completely online. I really despise that box.

No you didn't sound patronising aka smiley - smiley

Have you had any luck with the link yett? I've not been on there for a while now so don't even know if it still works.

There is already a chatsite on telwest aka, Yoome2. You only have to pay £1.99 a month for the basic stuff like chat. . I find it hard to believe that if people can can afford the subscription for digital tv whichwhich for me is £30 a month n can't afford to pay £1.99 a month on top top for the chatting.

I don't like to see abuse either on here aka. In fact if it wasn't for threads like the ones i've posted to recently i w i would only come on here to read guide entries for world war n other historical events so i do use it in the proper way.
I've bve been actively campaigning to get that troublesome individual Lee off the site as i hate people like that abusing this site. Its a complete waste of bbc's resources keep opening up accounts n only writing a couple of messages n opening up another one. I'm afraid i woni won't tolerate such behaviour off anyone regardless of who they are.

Well I'm glad it seems you now agree with what I'm saying. smiley - smiley
(Or at least, I agree with what you've said.)

The reason nobody wants to pay an extra £2 is because people want everything for free. "Why should I pay for that, when I can just use h2g2 instead?", etc.

My digibox is still complaining that "This Service is currently unavailable". smiley - erm

Hi mate smiley - smiley

So how have you got on with that link i sent you? I went into the link n it still works! ! Well it takes you to the address bss bar n search page. What it used to do is when you searched on anything when it came with all the possible sites it said whether those sites were digibox friendly. Digibox won't accept JAVAA sites so if you tried for example to go in hotmail it w it would say you can't go in.
You don't have to worry about telewest calling you cus its changed now.

Remember before the upgrade when you clicked on interactive n you had 8 options? Sport, news, games, email etc etc well when you clicked ked on the link it created a 9th option 'Tvinternet' n it was when you clicked on that option you had a p a phone call. I'd like to hear what you tou think about the link when you have time aka aka if you don't mind.

I'm not participating in the thread we were both talking in as its gone too downhill to waste my time on it anymore. In fact i've stopped reading the messages. es. Its really not worth the time n energy is it?

Take care anyway aka smiley - smiley

It's alright. I know what you meant. smiley - smiley
It seems that my digibox is still not 'online', so I can only get TV through it at the minute. As soon as it comes back online, I'll be sure to see it for myself. smiley - smiley

I tried the link you sent to me, and I now know what was meant by an address bar showing up. I didn't think there was any space in the actual browser bar to put one, but what they've done, is placed an address bar and search engine on a 'portal page', in a frame - but that top frame can be easily removed by sites who want to have the full capacity of the screen. Many BBCi sites, including h2g2, I believe have this in effect.

I analysed the link and it is part of the .dtv network, but I think it'll be a long, long time before Telewest bother to set up actual TV Internet. It'd be a nice feature, but to be reliable, they'd need to change a lot of things. The hardware's rubbish for a start. smiley - winkeye

Hi mate smiley - smiley

Sorry for delay in writing back i was having an interesting chat with with a woman on o2 chat on WAP! I'm not easily shocked by i am now smiley - laugh

Well all i know is that telewest have she shelved plans for tvinternet but it was working mate as i tried it. It wouldn't have been been worth the money tho as you couldn't go on many sites n when you went on them you couldn't clickclick back to the search engine so had to loff off n stn start again. . Twas very irritating like an itch you can't scratch!

'Tis.

For the price of a Telewest subscription with a likely TV Internet upgrade fee, you could get a Bush Internet TV box, anyway. smiley - ok

Hi mate last post before i smiley - zzz

I believe NTL offer tvinternet but don't know anymore details.

I wouldn't trust the bush net box as i reckon its very expensive to use. Have you any idea what it costs for say an hour usage? I would expect it to be the the same sort of prices as the internet was for pc users before 2000.

You can get a basic internet reat ready pc for around £300 brand new anyway. Hardly lot of money is it? I can't have one cus my parent wouldnuldn't allow me to use the the phoneline in in case people call up. My father gets calls in middle of night from his work if they need hd him so couldn't use it then eien either smiley - sadface

Anyway sleep well when you go off to bed. take care mate smiley - smiley
