Welcome to h2g2 - yep - I can identify with that intro - sometimes I think that if The Asteriod hit and wiped us out mankind wouldn't be such a great loss - then I read something by Douglas Adams, or even Shakespeare and I realise that we're not ALL bad But I'm still not sure about the "mostly harmless" part

thanks for your greeting. i've not got used to the system as yet. p'raps because i'm not using it enough. maybe that'll change.feel a bit like Dr Who-lost in an infinite universe. query- what do the numbers after subjects signify? gratias.

not sure what you mean by "numbers after subjects" - can you give me an example??

nice to hear from you again.my question referred to such things as Education -4members; Archaeology-5 members. trying to use the enegma decoding device gave me no definite answers.
p.s. like some others i too wonder why the universe is.

sounds like you've been over to the h2g2 university - I think that you'll find that they are like research groups - the thing to do is to click on the link and have a look - you'd be more than welcome, I'm sure, - this place is very much a "the more the merrier" kind of place
