Hathornefer (ACE) Near miss - isnt that what you'd call a hit

Hi Kuxun Suum welcome to the wonderful smiley - earth of h2g2.

I'm Hathornefer one of the many <./>ACE</.>s (Assistant Community Editors) and am here to offer you a warm welcome advice and links to help you find your way around. I'm a real person not an computer programme and to find out a little about me click on my name above this conversation post (you can do that on anyones name in any conversation thread.)

I am aware you said you have been around here for a couple of years but I get the impression it was not specifically the H2G2 pages - so I have put together a list of places you might find it worth visiting when you get the time. I hope you can spot the links to click on they stand out in a diferent colour whichever skin you have chosen.

smiley - biggrin A good place to start hitching is a ride on our <./>DontPanic-Tour</.> Its a free service and excellent value
smiley - dragon If you want to find out something the best place to ask is <./>ASKh2g2</.> it is one of the busiest places in H2G2 and someone will always have an opinion!
smiley - mouse Visit <./>ThePost</.> our weekly newspaper and <./>frontpage</.> to see what’s happening in h2g2.
smiley - holly The slang used here can be a bit confusing h2Jargon - A632431 or h2g2 Glossary - A901829 explains most of it
smiley - milk You can customise your space using what is available through h2g2 Spicing up Your Page - A690518 gives some good advice
smiley - cheers You may find 'Hints and Links for New Researchers' - A719840 useful
smiley - esuom Like most communities we have Clubs & Societies You can find out about these - A660340
smiley - cake If your interested in writing for the Guide Writing-Guidelines is a good place to start and I can not recomend strongly enough that you read it beore you make your go too far.
smiley - scientist You can click this link <./>RandomEditedEntry</.> Though where it goes nobody knows as it does what it says.

The last place I am going to tell you about right now is how to get to all the smilies - you will find there are dozens of them!!!! You can access them from this link <./>smileys</.> or by clicking on and smiley in any message. I have used a small selection in this hello message to give you an idea as to what there is available.

Moving away from links there are a couple of other things I will draw your attention to:
smiley - crisps We have a tag which displays the name of the researcher visiting the page so don't be concerned if you see your name on someone's space that researcher is just using tag some of them are quite amusing but harmless
smiley - santa Also the 'eyes' next to a researchers name show they are online
smiley - bubblyOoh one last thing before I go - it is easy to get lost when exploring. I suggest you take note of the "My space" button at the top or on the left of this text - it will take you to your own personal space. I find it is the most useful button here and use it all the timesmiley - smiley

Hope you find these helpful hints and you enjoy yourself here. To reply to this post (if you have any questions or if you just want to say 'hi') click 'reply' below. If I have failed to answer your question here before you ask it then please just ask.

Take care and happy exploring

Hath

Hi Hathornefer,

Thank you for ace-ing me and for all your suggestions & tips.smiley - winkeye About this or is it ...tag. I noticed my name appearing on,I believe, Seraphina's space whilst viewing hers. It kind of non-plussed me until she explained what had happened. So where do I place this tag? Anywhere around my space?

I was aced quite awhile ago, last year. I had a space here under the name of Panche Be. I lost my cookies when my old computer fizzled and couldn't get into it later. So I made a new space & name. Don't know what can be done about erasing the old one. Any ideas???

I have more time to spend around h2g2 now. I'm not so good with computer tricks, so it will take me some time to be proficient. So you like art films and Italian horror? I like the unusual small films too, though some Hollywood movies are okay. Have you seen "Dark City", "Sex & Lucia", or "Cronos"? "Cronos and Sex&... are Spanish films. "Cronos" and Dark City" are scifi/horror films.smiley - ufosmiley - yikes I enjoyed them.

That is all,
