Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I had various obligations today and didn't get to log on until late this evening. I had to make a two hour trip up to see my mother-in-law. My wife and I have our youngest grandson for a couple of days, and great-grandma wanted to see him. He's currently living about 250 miles away with his mother, and his father (our youngest son) is in Iraq. My son Rob was deployed three weeks before his son Isaiah was born, so he hasn't seen him yet. He will make it home before Isaiah's first birthday, but probably will make it home just in the nick of time. So I just now (2:00AM CDT) saw your post.
I'm not sure what you mean by the comment "Sounds like you got your life working well for you". It works, but sometimes it requires a LOT of tinkering to keep it on an even keel. I have fun, though. I think I'd probably be a raving lunatic if I didn't have a sense of humor.
Two cats. I've been thinking about adding a second one to the menagerie here. The one I've got just interrupted me a few minutes ago with a yowl that made me think she was in heat. Can't be. She's been fixed. I checked her food, her water, her litter box, and found nothing wrong. When I went to find her, she was sleeping on the water bed like nothing happened. I think a second cat would give her someone else to harrass other than me.
Crafts. I like to tinker with anything that I can do with my hands. My favorite craft is knitting. Particularly knitting with circular needles. I also make cord rosaries. If I can find the link again, I'll show you what all is involved in that. My wife does scrapbooking and recently bought a digital camera. She isn't too much into computers, so she bought me an inkjet printer for my birthday. I think that's a hint that she needs more pictures for her hobby, so I guess I'll have to add digital photography to my list of crafts. If my wife ever discovers home-made greeting cards, she'll probably start with that too. Which will increase my computer usage, I'll bet.
About the music and books and such: You're right. We have to start a conversation about them. Symphonies are my favorite, particularly Beethoven. I'm not much into opera either. The human voice is a musical instrument, and like all instruments, some people can play and some can't. The list of vocalists I readily listen to is VERY short. Even back in high school my favorite pop group of the day was The Ventures.
Well, it's getting on to 2:30 so time to get some shuteye. See you around H2G2 later.

Hiya.... I used to knit when my girls were younger, jumpers cardigans and lots of toys, Then as they got older and found fashion I concentrated on knitting toys and sold them for charity,,,,
Yesterday I watched as my youngest got married,(see new journal entry)
I hope your son will be back in time for his sons birthday, I do think its a shame that a father has to miss out on those first month but when your in the forces its hard so I can understand that.
The craft you and your wife do sound good, Ive not tried them (apart from the knitting, lol)
Its not always good to have 2 cats if they are mother and son, they fight, lol,, But Im told to sibling of the same sex get on better,,, My cats are old now, Suke (mom) is 19 and Emilo(son) is 17 n 1/2
As for best group/singer,, well I have to admit mine is Cliff Richard and The Shadows were the fav group back in the 50s/60s
Classical stuff? There so much I like, to much to name now, but the favourite is Rachmaniof on a theme of Paganini (from an old b/w film called "The Dream of Olwin"
chat again soon, Today im resting cus im shattered, lol

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I've had a busy week, what with my grandson being here, my wife's redecorating project, and everything else that has gone on. I just got back to H2G2 today.
I hope you've recuperated from the wedding. Those can take a lot out of you, especially a daughter's wedding. I keep kidding my daughters that I "gave them away" at their weddings, but they keep coming back with reinforcements. My youngest daughter lives right across the alley, about 250 feet from my back door.
One of my current projects is setting up a computer for my two grandsons who live in back of us. I got an old (?) computer from a friend and I'm trying to get it set up so they can play games and such. They've got a lot of educational software and children's learning games that I'd just as soon keep off my computer. The biggest problem is finding the space to set up another desk. There isn't enough room.
Well, got to run for now. Talk to you later.
