Carseats
Posted Jul 25, 2005
Spent lots of $$ on a new carseat Saturday. Peanut had outgrown the old one. It's some plastic and some foam and some fabric. I know it can't have cost near what we paid in order to make it. Had an informative sales person though. He pointed out that there was one brand (more expensive) that was made by the same company as the cheaper carseat. Only differences were: the fabric pattern, fabric cover had to be handwashed instead of machine washed, and a certain person had put his name on it as a brand. We got the cheaper, machine washable version.
The weather was wretched as well. The area around the store where we bought the seat was so crowded. Mr. Emee's truck started to overheat so we had to drive it around on the highway to get it cooled off. Sounds odd, but it worked. The temp gauge said it was 119F outside. A storm rolled in on our way home so by the time we were home, it was only 74F outside but very humid.

Maybe Not so Boring
Posted Jun 23, 2005
I started writing this in Boring & Banal and decided it was more of a journal entry:
I'm reading a book with which I am seriously disappointed. It's a semi-trashy novel by an author I usually like. But her 'heroine' is so abominably rude and self-centered I have no interest in her whatsoever. She also has several personality traits and speech patterns which I'm sure the author intended as 'quirky' but which are annoying and make the character seem ignorant when she is meant to be clever.
I found out this morning that I'll be supporting a new sales director's customers. A co-worker and I will be switching customer bases. The sales rep for one of the more 'needy' customers requested that her account be given to me. The person who used to have the accout is leaving to work at another communications business. That made me feel good to know that I'm doing a good enough job that people are saying nice things about me when my back is turned.
I'm having my gallbladder out next Friday. They offerred on Tuesday to do it tomorrow, but next Friday works better with my schedule. My brother and his wife are going to take Peanut to my mom's for the Independence Day weekend. Mr. Emee and I may or may not make it down there. It depends on how well the pain meds work. It's outpatient, so I'll be able to rest at home afterwards. Really I'll be at my brother's house. Driving an hour north would be counterproductive when we need to drive south to get to Mom's. She has threatened to buy a pony to get my brother's daughter to want to visit more.

Auto Shows
Posted Mar 21, 2005
I went to my first auto show this weekend with Peanut and Mr. Emee. I was *not* looking forward to it. For fun, Mr. Emee drives through car lots looks at cars, so I really didn't feel like looking at cars - again. I ended up enjoying myself. We looked at all sorts of cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans and never got hassled by sales people. Climbed in and out of them, pretended I owned more than one of the convertibles and was cruising through the hills, tested the fold up seats in all the minivans (because that's what we're getting next *sigh* kids). I even got within touching distance of a $110,000 car - a Masaratti. In addition to the new stuff, they had classics, kit cars and Mopar - vroom, vroom. Mr. Emee enjoyed playing 'stump the product specialist'. He knew more about the options and offerings than the corporate delegates.

October 28
Posted Oct 24, 2004
Went to see the on Friday. My blood pressure is up so she decided to induce labor on Oct. 28! Am starting to get nervous. Also told me to stay home from work starting Monday. I brought a database home to work on though. Am worried I'll drive myself (or Mr. Emee) crazy if I don't have something to take my mind off the impending birth.

It's Raining!
Posted Oct 6, 2004
...in Kansas where Mr. Emee is working. So, he's on his way home for a couple of days. Think I might take half a vacation day today. Tomorrow there's a baby shower at work and then I go to the anesthesiologist and the doctor.
