I should probably introduce myself, my name is LighthousegirlUK, but most people call me Light far less of a mouthful, I am an ACE (assistant community editor) and we like to pop over and personally welcome people. Now if you find yourself at a loose end and need someone to organise and cook for I am sure I can find an opening for you! I am totally disorganised and need all the help I can get. Luckily my boyfriend is a great cook so I eat properly at the weekends. During the week its another story ...

Thanks for dropping by & making me feel welcome. So far I have joined in a couple of conversations & written one article - well it's a recipe so not really an article but it's a really good recipe so I didn't feel nervous about submitting it. It's a really rich chocolate cake recipe that's been in my family for years & I thought others might benefit / put on weight from it. My favourite foods are puddings and Italian food - I have several pasta recipes that only take 15 minutes to make and are really easy - I'll happily pass them on if you want to wow your other half one night.

My main problem with h2g2 so far has been leaving it at the end of my lunchhour! You kinda get sucked in to stuff.

You asked about my cats - we have a moggie called Oscar & a Maine Coon called Maisie. We inherited them both from one of our lodgers when she moved out & got a boyfriend who didn't like cats - he's one of those bird fanciers who's sees cats as murder machines. They are very sweet & surprisingly don't seem to be the least interested in our fish - I think they're just too lazy. They are great fun to have around although Maisie did wake me up at 2am this morning being sick.

Gotta go now & do some work.

Great to hear from you! I know what you mean about this place being addictive - I work away during the week and one of the worst things about being away is not being able to be here! Tomorrow I have to go to one of our other offices which is nearer home so I get a bonus evening here with my computer!

cakes sounds good - I used to love that sort of thing - have some food allergies now which mean I cant eat it. Even worse I work for a company!!!!
I love to bake and luckily there are substite products I can use. Last weekend I tried adapting a biscotti recipie and ended up with some interesting results - will have to try again but the results were more than edible!

My other half loves Pasta - he has put some entries in the Guide but am sure he would be interested in more Pasta ideas
