Was a bit surprised to receive a personal reply. I assumed everything official on h2g2 would be from a group.

Have sent off some better quality stuff now.

But I don't know if it goes to you persoanlly or 'artists'.

That's it from me now to do with the caddis thing. Do what the hell you want with the drawings or do something cool and snazzy of your own...or whatever.

Not in the slightest, if its an official h2g2 website thing.

The only *personal* emails I like to get online are from people I've chosen to do that with...that I've got to know over time..even then I made some mistakes.

I don't know you from Adam.

(It was something I always liked about the BBC that it was *never* personal when it was to do with something official. But this is new h2g2.)

If you contact Eds...you get a reply from Eds.

I would expect if I am contacting 'artists' to get a reply from artists.

It's not hard to understand is it? I didn't send something to Dr. Anthea...who I might 'issues' with. I sent it to 'ARTISTS'

I don't expect *email* to be confused with that to do with something *official*.

Well if that's now how things here work here I won't ever be contacting 'artists' again.

In real life I may get a personal email or letter from a named individual eg my Housing Association or CPN or Doctor. They won't be anyone I've contact with in any kind of personal way.

I've seen the crp on that thread that you are involved with with Pnut.

Do you think I want something from *you* in my email.

I can't believe the cultural change here on new h2g2. But at least you're being honest about the way it now works here.

Effers, stop being ridiculous. You "chose to deal" with us by e-mailing us. There's no reason for the artists (or any other volunteers) to remain anonymous - and we like to be seen as people, too.

Dr. Anthea I just had a nice email from the Community editors explaining that *only* mods keep their names from replies..others do it by discretion.

I explained that for me its a whole new ball game, (well I didn't use that term, but that's what I meant), that if you are having personal interaction on h2g2 I can't deal with personal emails from individuals unless I've built up a relationship and feel fine about email.

Of course the irony is that it was Peanut's thread, that you were on, to do with me not being welcome, that has caused this problen....and the long standing situation with another Researcher here, who has insisted I don't ever post on her personal space..who takes part in that thread.

I think it would be good if these things could be respected. If you have tensions with someone...the last thing you want in your email box is a personal reply from them.

h2g2 is composed of all kinds of people with all kinds of emotional histories.

For me ART is everything. In my career such as it has been as an artist I can only work with another artist after building up a relationship with them.

That is the norm in London.

(I don't know what the hell you are doing here Mal...I'm sorting it out with Dr. Anthea...I'm sure she and the Comm. eds are sufficient. My hunch is that you are making matters worse...and why you'd lurk here I don't know.)

my friendship with any other researcher should not have a baring on how you interact with me Effers I have tried to be nothing but pleasant in all my dealings with other researchers

I also am a practising artist you are not alone in this, as it has been explained to you that only mods keep there names from replies I hope you realise that I will not be refraining from doing so in the future

There's been enough stuff of late going on for me where other people have decided to step in and caused all manner of upset and confusion...(I don't expect someone to turn up out of the blue and call me 'ridiculous' ART is everything in my life...and people are *different*

You are welcome to discuss it with her if you want...but I'll just communicate with you and more with the Comm Eds if neccessary.

(I don't want to go into detail about why this situation is especially fraught. But just take my word for it is...but its been brilliant actually that I've been able to talk straight to you about stuff. I'm pretty messed up at present.

honestly effers I was not aware that there was any problem between us until you came over,

At 13.55, I just looked it up, I sent 4 images as attachments to [email protected]. The email was titled,

'Four biological drawings of Caddisfly, Allogamus auricollis. (Much better quality).'

The attachments might be a big as I didn't make them smaller.

That might be causing a problem?

Tell a size to send if that causing a problem and I'll send again.


If I know dimensions I can make the images a more reasonable size for emailing.

the dimensions we use are 400*300 pixels
that can be portrait or landscape which ever is better suited to your picture

I had a problem for personal reasons I'm not going into that has gone on for a long time. The comm eds explained stuff...I sorted stuff out with Dr. Anthea and got to know her a bit and feel comfortable.

I've made it clear what I'm like as a person and how I am.

First you turn up, and but in, and call me 'ridiculous' because I'm *different* to you.

Now you come here and post that.

It was all sorted fine...You clearly have reasons though..
