We've booked our flights to Calgary!!! Yippee! I just can't believe we're really going to be there in a few weeks' time. 22nd - 29th March - to be exact. We plan to stay with my friend most of the week and take a couple of days to head into BC to a place called Nelson. Apparently it has an area nearby called Mountain Biking Heaven - and has to be checked out as a potential place to live - or at least visit - if we decide Canada is where we want to go to. I have told you about the family unicycle team haven't I. (You know me and my memory - the more people I talk to on here the more I forget what I've said and who to - so forgive me if I repeat myself or assume you know stuff you don't.)
So - are you feeling better yet - or are you going to have to pay a return visit to the doctor's tomorrow? I hope you are on the mend. Did the brandy help?

It`ll be great to have a taste of the real thing and then you`ll know if its the right place for you. Its great. smiley - smiley

Nope... you didnt tell me about the unicycle team, but you have now. smiley - laugh

You never cease to amaze me. smiley - smiley

It was great talking to you today. Flummoxed me for a few seconds there didnt ya?! smiley - laugh

I went back to the doctors and she`s put me on the sick for another week. She says the job itself is very stressful and I`m not well enough yet. Driving me potty it is.

Complete rest! Ermmmm... whats that?! smiley - laugh

It's good you've got another week off - sounds as though you need it. Just make sure you get taken care of!!
The unicycle team doesn't include me or the littlest one - but the other 4 are pretty competent riders. My husband (hereafter referred to as C on here - but I'm sure I've mentioned his name in e-mail) was a member of the British Unicycle team that went to Seattle last summer to compete in the World Unicycle Convention (yes - there is such a thing - held every other year - and attracting many hundred (if not thousands) of totally loopy people who do very weird things on one wheel!) C didn't actually get to compete in the end - 2 events he was entered in were cancelled; he chickened out of the unicycle hockey when he saw how tough the opposition were! And he lent his unicycle to a friend who had more chance of winning on it for his one remaining event. He did get to go on long rides with the world's best though and take part in a parade for Seattle's Seafest. I have tried to learn but it is very difficult and I'm just too scared! One of my girls learnt before she was 6!
Anyway - certain parts of Canada have to be checked out for mountain unicyle (or muni) potential. It's probably C's main reason for considering moving out there!

Hi Jan smiley - rainbow

Well, I went shopping today and thank goodness my J was there to help. I feel so weak, its absolutely horrible and I`m really fed up of it now. I shall have to hit the brandy bottle later and see if that helps. smiley - laughsmiley - laugh

Thats fantastic about the unicycle team in the family. I think thats great.

I had to smile when I read about C choosing to opt out of the hockey because of the look of the opposition. I have to say that I don`t blame him AT ALL. smiley - biggrin

I still havent managed to get to the pc emails because my poor J still has no access. This computer business is driving me mad now. Hes had no access for over 5 days now and neither have I!
(Although I did sneak in Davids room to have a quick peek earlier. Thankfully, David doesnt come onto hootoo so I should be fairly safe saying that!) smiley - laugh

Maybe you should try to talk C into going to Alaska.... he could invent an ice-travelling unicycle and not only get into the record books for the fastest ride but make money on his invention at the same time. smiley - biggrin

I don't think I'll suggest the ice-unicycling - he already does enough silly things on one wheel to worry me! I hope we'll get to go to Alaska one day whatever. Hope you do too.
That's bad about the access - what if you were running a business that relied on you being on-line?
I was going to e-mail you about today - but will just say it was fun, if a little wet. Tell you more when I can.
I don't think too much brandy will make you feel stronger! You need time to recover and get your strength back properly - so take care and make sure you eat well (especially before indulging in brandy drinking sessions!)

At least he`s unique enough to do silly things on one wheel rather than two feet! An accomplishment in itself. smiley - biggrin

Really hope we BOTH get to Alaska one day. You`ll be close in March so one day, who knows. smiley - smiley

Only thing that put me off a little was WAYNE!!! He said that he`d been fishing there and he sent me a piccie of a bug he saw... absolutely huge and horrible. That made me think twice for a few seconds... smiley - laugh

The access! Its heartbreaking. Poor J has tried everything he can think of now and so far, nothing has worked. It seems really unfair. I did it for his 18th and now I wish I hadnt.

I`m so glad that today went well and was fun.... told you it would. smiley - biggrin

E-mails. I can`t get to the pc ones, but telewest allowing, I can still get to `enlightened`, so if you want to email me there and tell me all about it, you MUST!!! The curiousity is killing me. smiley - laugh

You`re right about the brandy and everything. I must make the most of the next week and concentrate on getting rid of these bugs. At least the bug in Alaska was huge enough to swat if needs be.... these are annoying because they`re too small to hit with the fly spray. smiley - laugh

What the heck.... at least my sense of humour is intact. smiley - smiley

Take care Jan

I think I could cope with the bugs - anglers on the other hand are a different matter! smiley - laugh Presumably in the really cold parts with tons of snow there'd be very few bugs anyway. (She says - hopefully!)
I'm just going to send you an enlightened e-mail. (That sounds good!)

I know what you mean about anglers....say no more. smiley - laugh

Thats what shocked me when I got the piccie!! I didnt think there would be ANY bugs there with all that cold, let alone ones as huge as THAT horrible thing! Oooooo.... gives me the shudders just thinking about it. smiley - laugh

I got the enlightened email. smiley - biggrin

Does sound good doesn`t it?! smiley - smiley

enlightened e-mail sounds like a great name for a company! smiley - magic

I don't know about a thunder storm - it's just started chucking it down and someone round here is letting off fireworks! Bizarre.

Well that was a bit of a damp squib! smiley - laugh There wasn't any more thunder. But the fireworks are still going - I wonder what's going on.

Didn`t even last long enough to get a peek did it?! smiley - smiley

Sounds like there`s some kind of celebration going on!? I`m curious myself now. If you find out whats going on, you`ll have to let me know. smiley - smiley

Does sound like a good name for a company! I wonder what kind of business we could make it?! How about an advice email service?! I reckon we`ld be good at that. smiley - biggrin

Guess what - I fell asleep before 12. But there were several lights left on. Wonder if it had much of an effect. There's a website somewhere where you can see livecam satellite pictures of the earth - would have been interesting to have had a look.
I didn't get to find out about the fireworks. There is quite a large Asian community in Rugby and they sometimes have fireworks for festivals - but I can't think what would be on about now.

Hi Jan, yep, my eyes are open for now. smiley - laugh

Things are OK apart from all this computer business. Its a beautiful day here, really sunny. smiley - smiley

Hows things with you?

That could have been it with the fireworks. I know that some don`t celebrate Christmas etc but there is something in February. I know at work that a lot of people do manage to get the xmas holidays off because the Asian workers don`t want them... they prefer to have the time off at this time of the year! I`m not sure exactly what the celebration is, but I know its there somewhere. smiley - biggrin

That website sounds really good. I hope lots of people did it, but I suppose it would depend on how many knew about it!! smiley - erm

Just got to pop upstairs and see how my J is getting on with this machine.
