Greetings, Most Wise! *passes tray of , , *
I've been actively hiding from the Universe for days now, spending a fair amount of time wearing the cloak of invisibility, etc.
The brief (!) respite of a few days when I didn't hurt all the time didn't last long, I'm afraid. So hunkering's been about all I've been up for. Will do a journal on the major details...
How're you doing?

Thanks, I haven't gotten around to breakfast, yet.
*passes flame retardent coveralls*
You might want to slip this under that cloak.
Sorry to hear you haven't been doing well. Of course I'll read your journal when you post it. So, I won't bother you for details here.
I've almost recovered from yesterday. I take it as a bad sign when I walk in the door at work and get asked "Which would you like first: The bad news, the really bad news or the worst news?". Um, that isn't much of a choice, now is it? It took three hours to sort that out. After that, things were pretty much okay just exhausting.

*dons coveralls - you can never be too careful with protective equipment *
Indeed, when your workday starts with that sort of question, you have to fight the impulse to just runaway and hide!
I ended up taking most of Thursday off, partially because the new combo of meds I was on was making me woozy, partly just because I wasn't emotionally up to being there. If I'd stayed, my staff would have been treated to either screaming or tears, and I didn't think they really needed to see either. It's demoralizing to watch your boss whimper.
Feeling a bit more stable now, fortunately. Got back into therapy yesterday, after they finally got paperwork straightened out. And I'm going to a barbecue a bit later today. Keeping occupied seems to help the outlook

I'm hoping we don't need the flame proof gear. But, you can never be too careful. I've done what I could to avoid it.
I almost ran out the door Friday morning after that greeting. Probably would have if the person who asked didn't know where I live.
Probably best you went home Thursday. Understandably, it's a bit overwhelming, not just the pain, but the not being able to move, or use your hand the way you want to, at any given moment.
Keeping busy, either physically or mentally always helps. If I try to ignore something, I end up obsessing about it instead (how odd is that?).

It's pointless to flee when they know where you live
I'm the same way about obsessing, so it doesn't seem odd at all to me. What works for me (sometimes, at least) is to obsess as much as I want, scream, cry, whatever, but set a time limit. That gets the pity party out of the way, but doesn't let it drag on forever. Then I try to force myself to move on to something more pleasant/productive.
Not 100% effective, but it usually keeps me from wallowing TOO much.

Yeah, and when they are much bigger and a former marine...well... what's the worst news?
I'll obsess about something else instead on purpose or I'll just simply end up a basket case.
If you have a moment to log into one of the IMs, I'll explain why the flame proof gear.

I'll pop into MSN for a few, then I've got to get moving. Getting ready to do anything takes longer one-handed

When my carpal tunnel problems were at the worst, buttons were just impossible.
No flames yet, thankfully.
I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that.
GET WELL SOON!

No flames yet, but something very... um, odd. And, I'm not sure what to make of it. As far as I can see, it is rather suspicious and not very good.

*nervously taps flipper on desk while trying to sort something out*
Hmmm, something is rather fishy... aside from dinner, that is.

*sips and breathes a sigh of relief*
Turns out there was a perfectly logical explanation for the oddity. Logical, in a sort of way, but still. Bit of a relief all the same.
