Actually we've been very lucky weatherwise. It gets chilly at night but during the day we're in the low 60s which is great. At least the sky is blue and the sun shines even when it's cold here which always makes it seem much better. Well Sal, only a few days to go before drops down your chimney. Don't have chimneys in the flats here, not quite sure how he manages it but
always seems to find a way in somehow! Take care,

Hi Sal, I hope managed to find a way down the chimney without gassing himself. It was just my son and myself here at Christmas, parents are getting on (in their 80s)and although they love coming to Barcelona and the flight is only two hours it's the packing/unpacking and getting to and from the airport that they find too much. Takes them ages to recover afterwards. Hopefully I'll be able to pop over again in summer. Anyway hope you had a wonderful christmas, take care sal,

hello Sal,
Just thought I'd pop in to see how you are. The Christmas festivities have been and gone and we are heading towards Easter now. The sales are on here right now, they start on the 7th of January and go on until the end of February. Some shops have already got in spring and summer clothes but I certainly don't feel like trying on summer clothes in mid-winter. Anyway as my weight tends to go up and down, it's now worth buying anything right now. Might not fit by summer! The weather is pretty good considering that this is supposed to be the coldest time of the year here, got up to 62ยบ today. Must be this global warming thing that is changing all the temperatures. Anyway I hope you and yours are well and that 2004 is a good year for everyone. Take care Sal, n

Thanks Sal, I saw it on someone's Yahoo profile, liked it so I pinched it! Then I checked a quotes page to see who wrote it but it just said "unknown". Hope you're not too chilly over there, I saw all the snow that had fallen in England on the Spanish news. Mind you, it's pretty chilly here right now but we don't usually get any snow in the city.

Hi sal, glad to hear that you didn't get all that terrible weather that most parts of England have seen. My parents live in Devon and they told me that it had missed them completely. Didn't get any snow at all fortunately. We need rain here, we've had a couple of grey days but no real rain for the last couple of months. When we don't get rain for a few months they start talking about the possible drought and water rationing we'll have in summer but it never happens as we're very close to the Pyrenees mountains here and all the melted snow goes into the reservoirs luckily. I'd hate to be here in summer with a water shortage as it's very hot and sticky and it would be terrible not to be able to take a shower whenever I felt like it. We've now got all the summer clothes in the shops here as the sales are finally coming to an end but somehow I never feel like stripping off to try on flimsy cotton clothes when it's so cold outside. I don't like trying on clothes anyway which is a laugh because I remember when I was in school I used to go with my friends to the department stores after school just to try on clothes. We never had any intention of buying anything but it was good fun. Well, it's Sunday evening and I have a big pile of ironing to do. I don't mind most housework but I hate ironing .
Hope you had a good weekend sal, n

Hello there sue, nice to hear from you.We really didnt do too badly for the weather, although the little that did fall caused some tretchorous road conditions.I am sure we would be only too glad to send some of the rain your way,we seem to have had little else for the last couple of weeks!!!!I am looking forward to starting on the summer clothes,it always makes me feel better. As for the ironing.........i just don't do it!!we have been chatting about that on one of the threads,i thought it was only me the that got away with not using the iron,by now you'll have it all done, and put away i suppose.???It is just about lunch time now,so i am having some soup when i can move mysef away from this screen.Sounds wondeful, doesn't it!!
.Hope to chat to you soon, take care.

Hi Sal, how are you? Well I hope. I was reading the threads for the digibox business, my what a carry on! Some people are so rude with their messages. However, I sincerely hope it all turns out well and people who rely on using digiboxes can go back to using them again. I honestly can't understand why they've taken that possibility away from the people who need to use them. At the moment it's freezing cold here, and there was a little snow on the mountains around the city the other day but it rarely settles, fortunately. The worst is the wind which has been very strong today, I hate it. Some of the cherry trees in the city are in flower at the moment which is a good sign - spring must be on its way. Well Sal, hope it's not too cold where you are, perhaps you ought to get the brochures out and check out all the warm and sunny spots you could visit this year. Take care,
and

Hi
sue,as always.lovely to hear from you.It is freezing here again today, despite the sun shining through the window. The first snow we had,a few weeks ago, wasn't too
bad, although my daughter broke her arm slipping
in the ice.We just had more, but it hasn't lasted
long,yet again!!
As for the digibox users,i am having greet difficulty trying to use the
pc,it seems
so pointless, but we are all entitled to our opinions i suppose, and i have practised great
self restraint, which we learn as we get older!!
We have seen an ad for universal studios in spain, and it looks quite nice,so i think were looking at
getting some information on that before we decide where to go,but it will haveto be flat, and wheelchair friendly,or it will be back to the usual i think.Billy s it there, and as you know i am quite partial to it myself
,but discussions are under way
already!!!
i hope you're well, and the family too,and it soon gets much warmer for all of us.Take care sue, look forward to hearing from you soon.s salxxxxx

Hello Sal
Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while, was going to drop a line last week but the terrorist attacks in Madrid put everything out of my mind. Wasn't it barbaric? When things like this happen it really shakes my faith in the human race. If I sit down and think about it I suppose there are more good people than bad people on earth but somehow it seems that the baddies are getting the upperhand. Lots of families lost not one but two family members, how tragic! The Spanish people are really shaken up about the whole thing as could be seen by the demonstrations that have been held in the various cities. It saddens me just to think about it. We had some lovely spring weather for about a week but now we're having the tailend of the weather you've been having in England, cold, wet and quite windy. Let's hope it doesn't last. I'll be in Devon at Easter to visit my parents so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some dry weather and preferably sunny too! Or is that too much to ask? Anyway Sal, I hope you are keeping well and that your daughter's arm has mended nicely. Take care,
and

Hi there sue,its always a nice surprise to hear from you.I hope youre keeping okay love. The madrid bombing was dreadful,as you say there are some awful things happenng in the world, thank goodness the good outweighs the bad.It saddens me to see people out in the streets mourning the loss of their loved ones.It is when we see grief shown so openly that we begin to realise the extent of peoples loss,.I am so sorry for them.
The weather here has been dismal,it is so depressing.it's like living in half light permanently!!!!!Still, the clocks change this weekend,so we will have the extra hour!!!
I've never been to devon, but ive heard it's beautiful,i hope you enjoy it.It'll be nice seeing your parents.
We have given some thought to going to spain at some point this year, but were very cautious about having to be somewhere flat,so it's looking more like the usual place!!!If i don't hear from you before have a lovely time, and let me know how it was won't you?Take care sue.Chat soon.n

Hello Sal,
Just a quickie to wish you a happy easter. I'll be leaving for the airport in a couple of hours on my way to Devon. I'm definitely looking forward to a peaceful week even if it looks as if it's going to rain the whole time. According to the 10-day forecast for South devon, it's going to rain for nine days and the other will be cloudy. Just as it's beginning to warm up here! I noticed yesterday that the leaves are coming out on all the trees here. Barcelona transforms when the trees are green as there are trees in just about all the streets (we need them for the shade in summer) and it gives a lot of colour to the city. Oh well, just go and pack the last few things. Hope you have a good week, take care Sal,

Hi sue,it was so nice to hear from you, thank you.And for the easter wishes too.I hope you have a lovely easter,a nd a super hoiday, even if the weather isn't all you would wish for.
It sounds so nice in barcelona, and your posting had me looking at the trees in the garden,to see if i could see the new buds appearing !!It isn't very obvious yet,i had forgotten that they were there for shade as well, but of course i missed the hot summer in england last year, instead i was too busy sheltering from the storms in florida!!!
We checked out the new universal resort in spain, with the intentions of having a change, but it doesn't have disabled facilities as far as we can see, which surprised us,as the one in america caters so well for wheelchairs.Still.i bought my first new strappy tops last weekend.so we'll have to go somewhere for me to wear them!
i'll look forward to hearing how your holiday went when you get back .take care.n
