Greeting Mr. Sub-Editor, sir!

David,

I see you have been selected to sub-edit my article on Magnetic Recording. I hope you will be kind. smiley - winkeye

I noticed that the copy you are working with (recommended entry) has lost all the paragraph breaks. Did you merge the paragraphs or is this a glitch in the way GuideML is copied to a new document location?

If my old English Composition professor saw those long paragraphs, he would give me a B-.

I haven' touched your entry yet (honest!), so the lack of paragraph breaks wasn't me... I'll check out the original and make sure they all go back in.

I will let you know when I'm done subbing, so that you can give the entry an additional once-over before I send it off to the editors.

Thanks David. In my original I didn't use the tag for paragraph breaks and that seems to be needed to keep the format. I edited the original to use them. Can you extract the GuideML raw text? I could also send it to you via email as well.

Hello,

I think I'm done. Paragraphs are back in, and I have done the usual with apostrophes and the like. A few sentences have been reworded to make them read more clearly (I hope!), so if I've accidentally made them more confusing or inaccurate, please let me know!

David,

Looks excellent! The only flaw I saw was a mistake I made in the original. In the third to last paragraph, I use the phrase "some time to come" twice. Perhaps one instance of that phrase can be reworded as "the foreseeable future" or something like that. It would eliminated the reader's dejá vu.
