Elf calling Owl!
Titania (gone for lunch) Started conversation Apr 29, 2007
Here's the explanation, all too simple: a somewhat confused elf got herself lost at Victoria and boarded the wrong train - a train that had exactly the same departure time as the train I should have been taking.
By the time I realized (having arrived at the final destination) it was already past 11 am and, after having checked at the ticket counter, I realized that there was no way I could get to Canterbury earlier than 3 pm.
That would have left far too little time I think, to really enjoy a visit to LoD and the rest of Canterbury.
So I immediately texted you, and after 15 minutes without recieveing a reply, I texted again.
At 11.30, still having recieved no reply, I tried calling you, only to be told (by my mobile) that no such number existed! Which is odd, since I had had no trouble texting you my time of arrival earlier...
I tried texting twice more before you called me - and I've no idea why that worked, when *I* couldn't reach *you*.
My mobile kept flickering between Vodafone and a Scandinavian operator, but not even once Orange (which I had seen earlier as chosen operator). Oh well, it's almost 10 years old - I think this is a sign I should get myself a new mobile, eh?
Sorry to keep you all waiting for me in vain...
I hope you'll have a great day!

Hi Titania,
We were worried about you, but I'm glad you're OK. Ben, Hyp and Teuchter arrived about half an hour after I phoned you, having taken longer than expected to reach Canterbury from Teuchter Towers, so you weren't holding up proceedings at all. GD and I spent the time retrieving his mobile, which he'd left in his car.
How annoying about your phone. I hope it starts behaving itself soon.

It's not behaving - I got a phonecall on it - from myself!
And Teuchter had texted me, but it didn't reach me until several hours later - and I was unable to figure out what to dial to check my voicemail (I tried with countrycode, without countrycode, omitting a zero, including it...).
Definitely time to get a new one!

Getting a phonecall from yourself is very impressive, though probably rather disturbing at the same time!
It might be the network rather than the phone, but getting a new one sounds wise.
