Vestboy's Imprint on the Dewey Demon

Post 1

Vestboy

Greetings fellow super hero. I got married in Canterbury and at two times worked in the Kent and Canterbury Hospital having also been a student at Darwin College.

Small world eh?

Small indeed.

Keynes College is much better than Darwin, though. smiley - tongueout

It always was. Darwin had the honour of having its own pub - The Missing Link. Does it still exist?

The Missing Link still exists, but hasn't ever been a pub when I've been familiar with it - just a bunch of seminar rooms, really. I did hold a quiz night there once, though. I began my studies at UKC in 1997.

Ah, I had been long gone by then.
Quiz night - did it have a theme? Could I have entered?

'Twas a music quiz smiley - musicalnote and I'm sure any reasonably intelligent person (or other super-heroic being, I guess) could have entered. It was quite good fun, but I prefer taking part - you have more chance of winning something then!

Music and Sport are my weak subjects at quizzes. I sometimes drag stuff up from the dim and distant past but generally look to more informed friends for football and cricket facts and figures.

Do you win much at quizzes? I waspart of a team that won a charity quiz a couple of months back but don't partake too often.

I have a team from the library and we regularly win quizzes, which is rather nice. Our winnings tend to pay for a meal out before the next quiz! We tend to go to entertainment (music/film) quizzes, but have been known to do more general ones as well.

Sport is definitely my weakest subject, as I have no interest in it at all...

*Strikes Dewey Demon's name of list of possible sports experts for superhero quiz team.*
How are you on Natural History?
*Pen hovers over list*

Not bad... My strongest areas are the arts, particularly theatre and literature.

Adds name to Arty Farty list and moves to Pop Music.
Can you name the Spice Girls... and why?

Vestboy's Imprint on the Dewey Demon

Post 12

David B - Singing Librarian Owl

I could probably name the Spice Girls if pushed, but wouldn't want to. smiley - tongueout

Why? As in Why did the Spice Girls exist? Absolutely no idea. It's probably best to try forgetting them.

Correct answer - writes name on list of people to be on a quiz team with even if you do lose.

I tend to have a memory for trivia which makes me useful on a quiz team but potentially anorak-ish in conversation.

Post 14

David B - Singing Librarian Owl

Me, too. But then, I suppose anorak-ish-ness goes with my occupation. smiley - winkeye It's pretty much obligatory.

If we really don't know an answer in a quiz, we tend to be as creative as possible with out obviously wrong answer. Variations on 'Bob the Builder' have often been used, but we try to be more creative. When asked who sang some dull-sounding song to do with the ocean, we went for the answer 'Sealion Dion', for instance. No points, but we like to keep the scorers amused. smiley - smiley

It's sometimes fun to think up a correct answer which is usleless - along the lines of how many people work in your office - oh, about half of them.
