'Ello!

Just thought I would drop you a note saying that I'm with you in the "Jesus was Lord" camp. Having just finished "The Salmon of Doubt", I was most disappointed to hear what a hardcore atheist DNA was. It makes me sad that some seemingly intelligent people hold so tightly to thier belief in nothing. Odd, isn't?

So, you're a librarian. "Conan the Librarian!" {Ever see UHF? Silly movie by Weird Al.} I love reading so I think being a librarian would be pretty cool. (In a geeky sort of way... :P ) You say you like SF. Asimov is my all-time favorite author. Ever read his stuff? I just started Foundation. Also, do you know Joseph Finder? I think I may have gotten an e-mail from him... He's my favorite living author. (Click on my name to see my favorite books.)

I never used to watch Star Trek, but I do catch Enterprise when I can. I like Scott Bakula. Quantum Leap was pretty cool. The ST movies have been alright. Never really got into Star Wars, but The Abyss and StarGate are some of my fav's.

That is so cool that you sing! We had a great choir in High School. They actually did a tour of England. (Steinbach Christian High School, from Manitoba, Canada.) Our director is amazing! Sometimes I wish I could join some sort of choir, but I know I would be disappointed after being directed by Mr. Friesen. Our high school also did an amazing production of Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Annie... and others that I never was a part of.

Yea, so that's the long version of just saying, "Hi"...

Hi!

Being a librarian is actually harder work than most people expect, but it is indeed really cool. I have heard reference to 'Conan the Librarian', but never actually come across him. I am, however, a big fan of the Librarian on the Discworld!

I do find non-belief sad sometimes, but I also respect it. I'm one of those people who thinks it's more difficult to believe categorically that God doesn't exist than that he does. But in this world of no absolutes, it seems to be very unpopular to say 'this is the right way', when with Christianity there really can be no other way, as that would make a mockery of the whole thing...

Join a choir! Singing is just marvellous, particularly with other people - you can make a great noise and enjoy yourself so much without a fantastic musical director. I think singing is good for the soul.

So, this is my long-winded way of saying 'hi' back.
