There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation Jun 22, 2013
Hello Geggs, I've been given your entry to sub-edit. I've done a fair bit of work on it already (I reckon I'm about 90% done), just tweaking a few things, and hopefully I haven't changed the tenor of it too much - it's a very nicely written piece with a very h2g2 feel. Here's the working copy A87798848 and here's the entry as it was picked from PR A87796057 for comparison.
I spent a week in Bourton almost 30 years ago - a bunch of us rented a cottage for Christmas week, must have been'85 because I remember watching the last gripping episode of Edge of Darkness a day or two before we set off for the Cotswolds. It's an amazing place, but we didn't get to see the model. I can't remember why, maybe it was closed for the season. Or more likely because we were too busy getting bladdered and stuffing ourselves with Christmas nosh
Any road up, I've tidied a few things up a bit, added a footnote and link or two, and moved the part about the church further up, so take a look at the entry and let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.
How do you feel about a header, or maybe subheader, for the section about the model of the model of the etc? Something to do with infinity would seem appropriate. 'To infinity and beyond' was the first thing that came to mind but that might be a bit cheesy

Thanks Gosho. It looks good to me, and you've managed to straighten out some of my wilder diversions in the text. The only bit I'm sad about losing is that, when looking through the inverted periscope, it's only the presence of the 'giant feet' that forces you to realise that you're not looking at the real village. I quite liked that bit.

Great, thanks Geggs.
There wasn't anything about feet in the entry that I got from PR, which is this one A87796057 , and I didn't see anything in the PR thread about it, but I could put something about them in in the periscope paragraph. I like the idea - it makes more sense than just saying 'giants' if you're looking at street level.

Yeah, I think I meant that feet when I put in the line about giants walking about, but it probably wasn't all that clear in the original entry.
Your version looks good to me.
