Are you Dave Gorman?

Hey Geggs. Saw you like Dave Gorman. I've only seen him on the TV once and thought him pretty funny. It was one of the ones where he went round the world looking for other Dave Gormans. Then I saw the above-mentioned book and thought that could be pretty good. Was wondering if you had read it? If so, is it any good?
IMO, Tony Hawkes is a really funny comedian as well. No sane person would ever hike round Ireland with a fridge!

Yeah, I've read it. And it is deeply funny.
It was co-written by Dave and Danny Wallace (who owned the video camera, and so filmed all the footage for the show).
It goes into a lot more detail than Dave could in the show, and is written fairly oddly too.
Y'see it's written like a conversion between the Dave & Danny, or rather, like the pair of them are, between them, explaining, to you, what happened and why. So they are argueing, interupting and contradicting each other as they go. The book is printed in two different type-faces, so you can see which bit is Dave and which is Danny.
As I say, it is deeply, depeply funny.
Have you seen that latest series, Dave Gorman's Important Astrology Experiment? Also too funny for it's own good.

Thanks, I'm going to rush out and buy it as soon as I find some money! When i read the Toney Hawkes books I laughed so hard it hurt (including a few places in public). Bit embarrasing but definately worth it!
I saw an advert for the Astrology Experiment but, as per usual, it completely skipped my mind until the day after. If I'm lucky they'll repeat it or release it on VHS/DVD so I can catch up.
BTW, noticed your mention of Dire Straits. Only I ever listened to one of their songs but it's one of my favourites of all time - Brothers in Arms. Great song.

We're still waiting for Auntie the release The Dave Gorman Collection on VHS/DVD so I wouldn't hold your breath.
It's the last ep of the IAE on this Sunday, so don't miss it!
Ah, yes, Brothers in Arms. That whole album is really great. Probably their best. And the title track is actually the last, which odd, it got Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, and a few other war songs on there too. So, yeah, buy that too.

I actually have the Brothers in Arms album but I love the track itself that I haven't really listened to the rest of the album. I put the Brothers in Arms track onto minidisc so the rest of the album has sort of fallen by the wayside. On your recomendation I might go and find it again (though I'm in the middle of packing so I don't expect to find anything!)
Cr*p, I think I'm going to miss IAE on Sunday. Don't have a video recorder myself so I'll have to ask my parents. Trouble is I'll have to wait until December then before I can see it Oh well, good things come to those who wait... You never know, might be able to convince others to stay in common room to watch (after a quick visit tot he offlicense).
Better get back to packing. Got to go to uni tomorrow morning. Cheap booze here I come!
