Thanks for your support in the 'EoTM fiasco' thread, as I'm re-christening it.
I doubt my decision to cease producing EoTM articles will surprise you, but equally, I don't want to lose the friendship of two people whom I have a lot of time for. I'm watching developments with curiosity.

Yeah. It doesn't surprise me. I don't blame you either.
I saw Icy was interested in taking it up. He would do a good job, I think.
At this point, I've begun to take a step back from h2g2, which has allowed me to be more open and blunt about what I see happening on this site. Where I used to be more careful, because I wouldn't want to lose friendships (much as you've said), I've reevaluated my priorities here. It sure seems to make some people uncomfortable.
The two hidden posts on the top of the second page, by the way, belong to me and Gnomon. Gnomon (justifiably?) called me a name, and I quoted it in response, which apparently was enough to get mine yanked. Here's the post that was emailed back to me if you're curious (and for the benefit of posterity/lurkers)-
Subject:
Entry of the Month page is starting to look good
Posting:
Somehow, I didn't think that that post would go over well.
"I won't go and accuse anybody of voting for friends/family instead of the entries they like best, though."
I didn't accuse anyone of anything. GB seemed to have accused MB
(maybe I'm reading that wrong), and I merely wanted to point out that
it's easy to make such allegations. An accusation requires evidence. I
have no evidence that any of the voters for GB's Shot at Dawn voted
based on their friendships (I have a sort of a hunch, but I hope the
opinions of one sheep do not mean anything to you fine folks).
In the same way, GB doesn't have any evidence that MB is behaving
improperly. That's why I chose to make that point. And for the record,
again, I think MB's doing a good job running EotM and I commend him
for his efforts.
"Oh, and even *if* you had a point, Jordan, it wouldn't be anything of
GB's doing"
I know that.
[and then Gnomon's bit I quoted]
Good to get it out in the air, isn't it, Gnomon? If I am arrogant,
though, I wouldn't say I've recently displayed it in this thread.
Possibly. But I'm more inclined to think that I've just grown tired of
having my actual opinions and observations of what's going on here
stifled by the whining of a few, who insist that I remain polite and
quiet, while at the same time defending another person's right to
unfairly insult someone else.

Hmm. No, I don't think I'm on Pre-Mod. That post was up there for a few minutes.
I reposted a moderated post from the other thread, but removed the bit that the editors (in their email to me, when I emailed them to ask why my post was removed) said was the offending portion.
That's sort of annoying.
