Jim wants me to tell you about his Audi S4 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo. 442bhp, when the standard S4 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo is 261! (This is on GTII of course. 60mph comes in 3.922sec and the max speed is 183mph. It is highly tuned and the engine sound is magnificent. The colour is red, as all Audi S4s should be.

Crikey!!! 60 in 3.9! That's gotta be the fastest road car in existence. What a beast of a thing!
It looks great, too.

He says: It is hard to get that kind of acceleration on tracks, but in figure testing it's whammo! It spins too much without a fully customisable limited slip diff. He wants to get the Turbo pack that will boost its power to 560bhp. He also has a DB6 323bhp, good for 0-60 in 6.5secs. Its colour is champagne, and he also has a Nissan Micra Superturbo called such because it is both Supercharged and Turbocharged.

"It spins too much without a fully customisable limited slip diff."
Is Jimmy reading this out or does it just come from the inexhaustable store of knowledge in his head?

Isn't that a waste of gas, to accelerate as rapidly as possible? If you really cared about the planet, should you be driving a high efficiency hybrid car?
Not to mention owning an expensive car...

Eff off you tosser! Cars like that are made in such small numbers and driven such small distances as to be irrelevant in any discussion about saving the planet.
Let Jimmy have his fun!

U195408 Posted Jan 20, 2004
That's just the kind of talk that ruins the planet...
"It's not my fault, I'm just one little person"
We all have to work together, but clearly some people care more about racing gas-guzzling cars than saving the planet. It's sad

Dave, you don't give a dam about saving the planet - you're American.
You only care about irritating people.
Your current mission seems to be to create as much irritation as possible. In the process you've squandered the tiny bit of credibility you might've had.
No-one takes you seriously anymore.

Empty Sky (Remember me fondly.) Posted Jan 20, 2004
Oh and which frugal electric-hybrid do you drive?
Audi S4
U195408 Posted Jan 20, 2004
I drive the ultimate hybrid...it's called a bicycle. It's a man/machine hybrid that can go an infinite number of miles on 0 gallons of petrol. That's how I get to work. When I'm not doing that I just walk - arguably the most environmentally friendly mode of transportation possible.

No wonder you're so insular and ignorant. All you've seen of the world is that corner within bicycling distance.
You poor fool!

U195408 Posted Jan 21, 2004
Just b/c I get to work that way doesn't mean that's the only way to travel. I would have thought that didn't need saying. But at least I'm not killing the planet.

You're American. You're supporting a government and a system that's killing the planet purely for their own selfish ends and denying it.
America is the world's number one poluter. Far out of proportion to the size of its population.

No, I'm not. I voted against them time and again. I've written my senator lauding him for protecting the environment against the Bush administration. On top of that, I take personal action to protect the environment. I worked at a recycling center in high school. What have you done empty?

Anyone can say that, Dave. But it's much more likely that you drive a Hummer and hang out at Burger King all day.
Anyway, you twit, you've been taken for a ride. As Della revealed on the WWWA, Jimmy's Audi S4 is a Playstation game.
I hope you feel like the fool you are.

U195408 Posted Jan 22, 2004
Yes empty, I felt like the fool you are.
Still, glorifying gas guzzling sports cars...how is that different from glorifying gas guzzling trucks? You're part of the same program as Ford, except that you don't even get paid...how sad.

"Yes empty, I felt like the fool you are."
That's just the level I'd come to expect from you. It's the sort of thing that five year olds say.
Dave, I explained it on the WWWA thread. I can't be;ieve you didn't see it, but just in case I'll reproduce it below:
___________________________________________________________
It's simply not possible to make a comparison between American gross self-indulgence wagons like the
F150, Silverado, Explorer etc and low volume specialist sports cars.
Cars like the Audi S4, Aston, Ferrari etc are made in the hundreds (at the most) per year worldwide and are very rarely used as everyday transport. In fact they're often bought by speculators who specifically use them very rarely, in order to maintain their value.
Grotesque, enormous American vehicles are sold in the hundreds of thousands in America alone. They're the biggest selling "cars" in America. They're used as everyday transport by people who will never come close to needing all the power and size they offer. They represent pure, willful, wasteful indulgence by the majority of the population.
There is no comparison.
In any discussion about the wasteful use of natural resources and the saving of the planet, it's not the specialist car nuts who should be targeted. They're contribution is comparatively negligable.
If supercars were gone from the world tomorrow, the world's oil usage would not be significantly less.
If Americans squeezed their enormous frames into sensible, responsible vehicles tomorrow, there'd be no need to invade Iraq ever again.

No empty, it's the principle. Sports cars & trucks are in the same category when it comes to gas guzzling. Why are you discriminating against truck drivers, and for sports car enthusiasts? Is it because a certain country predominately drives trucks?
