Hello, Empty Sky, have a look at my space (and Adele's) with particular attention to the mass debate thread - and on Adele's - no, she's gone from there - one called Alpha Course.
After 2+ years, my status here may be coming to an end.

I've had a look. What a ridiculous situation! It seems that some people are just too sensitive. You didn't say anything wrong, so don't let it upset you and IN PARTICULAR don't let it drive you away.
I think leaving a conversation doesn't really make much of a statement because most people don't know, or care, why a person leaves. It's better to hang around and make your views known.
Remember, don't let it upset you!!!

The whole thing is quite bizarre - I don't know why or how it escalated, because there has never been this level of personal accusation and vitriol before despite some hairy disagreements with other people! This situation seems to involve two people in particular, who have got others involved - and while I know I should stay and fight, I am feeling very battered and bruised right now.
As I said to one person (new to me) who seems to have got involved, racism is an accusation it's impossible to defend against - for one thing, it's impossible to prove a negative! It's my belief it's really all about other issues, it's just that calling someone a racist is such an effective slur! It invalidates anything else I might say anywhere else, about anything, and it covers up the real issue!

Hey! I've used way too many exclamation marks! Why is that, I wonder? Doesn't it look silly!
