I'm glad you liked it...it was up the top of my playlist when I was going through the redhead saga...possibly because I woul always call him when I was at the pub...and then feel VERY sorry about it afterwards !

Seriously though, Nick Cave is often dismissed as a depressing, kind of "gothic" subgenre singer...but the truth is he's an excellent writer and a lot of his songs are amazing...Thirsty Dog is probably my favourite (except maybe for "Mercy Seat", which is about a guy on death row...)

If you ever get the chance, listen to Tom Waits *Better Off Without a Wife* on his Nighthawks in the Diner disk. I'll put the lyrics here but his introduction is priceless, he talks about seducing himself before...ahhh..well, you get the idea. What made it come to mind was the lines we were tossing back and forth, the first thing he does is buy himself a drink and then look in the mirror and say *I think you have something in your eye..*
