h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello Justin, this is Mr. Jesse, another new researcher, and I just wanted to say how nice it was to meet someone with interests much like mine. I absolutely love Pink Floyd (I've read several of you're Floyd discussions) and Monty Python as well. It's just nice to meet someone who's into that stuff when so much of the new generation is forgetting (Dark Side of the Moon was on the charts for 700 some weeks and now very few kids have even heard of it, how does that work out?).

P.S. I hate rap as well.

How did you get into the older music like Pink Floyd?
I started a while ago while digging through my dad's record collection...

My cousin, about 15 yrs old, didn't eve know what a records was, and when she saw my record player, she had to ask me what it was, and what it did!

That thing with your cousin and the record player is so sad. Oy, what a world we live in.

I got into Pink Floyd in sort of the same way. My dad and mom always liked them and I remember seeing tapes lying around alot when I was little, but I never remember actually hearing them listen to it. I didn't know anything about them (Floyd) for a long time, but I knew they were a bit different than the "normal" stuff. Finally, I was looking through my stepmom's CD's and found a Dark Side of the Moon CD. I wanted to listen to it because I thought it must be interesting and I loved it right away. It's just kind of grown since then.

I only really started getting into music a little while ago, and since then I've come to really like the older stuff. My favorites are all old,and I think that most of the older stuff is just much deeper and has more depth and is just more original. What other music do you like?
