Hey....
vegantoo Posted Feb 17, 2003
I've just sent you an e-mail about it. It was rather disappointing - but couldn't be helped apparently.
I've just eaten far too much lentil shepherd's pie. Made a really nice one with celeriac in with the potato topping. Scrummy but irrestible to an unhealthy degree. I always vow after over-eating it that I will be more restrained next time - but I never learn. I just feel like sitting still for about an hour now.

MMMM Lentil shepherds pie.
Cannot say anything as always make too much myself and scoff the lot regardless. Eyes bigger than my belly as my old mum used to say.
Was i the instigator of the celeriac topping, probably not.

vegantoo Posted Feb 17, 2003
I have used celeriac in potatoey toppings in the past - but not for a long time. C got the celeriac to go in my Valentines stir fry - and it was very nice like that. I was just using up the other half of it.

Hello Brighteyes - how are you?
Had more shepherd's pie for lunch today (I'd somehow managed to make a huge one with the same amount of ingredients as usual. Must have been the cleriac - every expanding.) It was very nice - but was only meant to be a snack type lunch and I'm still feeling well stuffed. Which is a shame really as I have a really nice tea lined up.

Hi there nice to see you, i am great, mood considerably bettered by £50 cheque from ERNIE this morning before work, just been paying it in to internet account sounds very technical but cant be because i can use it.
Nice also to see you still talking food, our favourite subject. Not decided what i am having would like baked potato but also want pasta, i dont know decisions decisions. What nice tea do you have lined up?

I was thinking of baked potatoes but S (adopting initials for all members of the family now!) wanted M&S veggie samosas and bhajis with dipping sauces - which kind of sounded nicer (can have the spuds tomorrow). I'm going to make some fried rice with nice vegetables in to go with them.
I'm sure you could have pasta and potatoes if you really want - there are no rules you know. It's the kind of meal my girls eat all the time - pasta, pizza and potatoes all together. They are real carbohydrate addicts.
Congratulations on the win! Will you be out celebrating tonight?
Hey....
< donone1 Posted Feb 18, 2003
Will need money to replenish account time for celebration will have to wait, no sorry cannot keep up the pretence will be staying in and celebrating. Have cheques in my hot little hand will soon be winging their way to Swindon. Pasta Pizza Potatoes sounds top meal, just contemplating the carbohydrate high, would keep the old energy levels up no problem. Knowing me will get into kitchen and make something without any of the big three.

I've got a bit confused by what's going on in the official Birmingham meet thread. It looks more and more likely we won't be here that weekend anyway. Glad we arranged our own thing - must work out exact time to meet up etc. I'll e-mail you later. Just off to do some studying.

Have a good one.
Know what you mean about thread seems to have morphed into something completely different, mind you cannot comment some of our threads do go off on a tangent.

Doing OK thanks.
Brief pause before we get organised to go to the big family do tonight. Eating barabrith (must give you the recipe!) to fortify myself for a buffet that will have nothing at all vegan - except maybe a stick of celery or two. It's not even worth trying to explain to them!
Need my strength for the fight tomorrow too.

Have a good time at the knees up, have heard o barabrith, not sure from where though. Buffets are a bit of a worry, sure you do not need to much energy tomorrow as you will only be using kid gloves!!
Catching up with Carole tonight, seems like ages since i have seen her, might have made a mistake as it is club night tonight, is it de rigeur to chat whilst raving, oh well will find out.
Catch you later

The fight wasn't too bloody. I came home with some old books - a Jackie Annual with a David Cassidy feature (?!) and some singles that did actually turn out to be mine - amongst them was the first I ever owned - Solsbury Hill - so worth the tussle.
So what's this with you and C? Thought she had a new bloke - or are you two back together?
The 'do' was loud and Christian based. Weird. Ate cold roast spuds and rice. Glad I stoked up on the barabrith - would be very good hiking food.
Hope you had a good weekend. Catch up (properly) soon.

Barabrith is Welsh - so ideal to take up Snowdon. Must be about time I did it again.......

Glad to hear that no blood was spilled and the Gabriel single was a real bonus. Looking forward to catching up with you, Carole and fella still going strong, luckily she did not go on too much about it, have not got a strong stomach for that kind of thing. Had a good natter despite the raving, we make much better friends.
You were lucky to get cold roasties and rice, usually someone helpfully puts mayo or something equally undesirable over everything.
Expect Barabrinth recipe by the way do not think you can keep it to yourself, sounds like Snowden is calling you. Have some intersting developments will e mail you.
