Hello welcome to a new feature, currently i am reading The War at the
End of the World by Mario Vargas Llosa, being only a third of the way through the review is still on the drawing board but gearing up for it by suggesting a drink to go with it, taking into account the authors nationality a chilean wine would be most appropriate possibly a cambernet sauvignon and seeing that the novel has a religious theme it has to be a red wine
More to follow..............

I will take your words of wisdom on board sure that a wine expert like yourself could detect the subtle bouquet of the merlot compared with the cheeky cabernet

I call Merlot the chocolate wine because it has a hint of vanilla but with slight bitter undertones - like good chocolate. It's a nice mellow wine to relax to - so ideal with a good book.

A certain supermarket (that doesn't start with an 'S') has a nice Chilean Merlot on special offer at the moment.

How much weight have you lost? And is it just a result of becoming vegan?

Not sure stopped getting weighed a while ago but would put it at around half a stone and totally down to being a vegan, girls in work are green with envy as they are trying every diet known to man and still not losing weight, i just smile and tell them to try veganism, no takers so far

I lost quite a lot in the first 6 months or so - then stabilized and now I've started putting it back on again . Can't quite figure out why as I don't think I'm doing anything different. Except not training as much I suppose - I've lost my enthusiasm for just doing gym stuff since I went to Peru. I need a new mission!

I thought you said he was Chilean? Wasn't that why you were going to have some Chilean wine?
I wouldn't bother trying Peruvian wine - it's disgusting

He sounds like a real writer. Very 'exotic' (for want of a better word) lifestyle. Fancy marrying your Auntie!!! Lima is a strange place - I should think anyone who went to university there would have loads to write about. It made me feel very sad and helpless.

I should stick with the Chilean wine if I were you - either the sauvignon or the merlot - I'm sure the South American connection is close enough to evoke the appropriate atmosphere.
