Happy New Year!

Hi Sweetness,
Just in case you think I'm ignoring you - I'm not. I sent you and another friend a New Year e-mail late last night and I know the other one hasn't got through yet - so I assume yours hasn't either. The delay on the system that started with the seagull message seems to have got worse. So - if you have sent me stuff and I haven't replied - it's not me - honest!

I am with you on that front, optimists must win the day in the end
Not a great fan of politicians but do not want to jump on any bandwagons knocking them!!

Have you been reading the Barefoot Doctor's articles in the Observer? He seems to ramble on about the impending war rather a lot. But he does say we can all make a difference. If everyone has more peaceful thoughts and is just that little bit kinder to everyone they encounter - it is bound to have a knock on effect. Dan Millman says the same sort of thing. I'll e-mail you the link to his newsletter.

Thanks for the article , he speaks a lot of sense not only about
Iraq but about the whole middle east. I am sure you sre right about the peaceful thoughts, the movement to war seems horribly inevitable. We must all do out bit for peace.

Interesting to know we are listed in the little book. Wonder if anyone ever contacts her because of it.
Do you have a local contact too?

Or join us down here!
Seriously - there must be more than just the one vegan in Liverpool. You could try contacting the Vegan Society - they have local contacts listed on their website I think. Setting up a local group could be fun - although ours hasn't been all that much help (if any) in terms of finding out more about veganism - apart from finding out about a very nice Korean restaurant that will do vegan stuff for us. (And I suppose I may be of some help to other newbie vegans with tales of my experiences and being able to offer support (and recipes of course!).) But, as I said, I have made one very good friend through it.

Yes have thought of the vegan soceity, as you say i cannot be the only vegan in liverpool, there was a woman on the walking course who claimed to be a vegan though she was a bit of a stereotype veggie, like a sitcom character vegan, she had a carrot cake from the canteen which i am almost certain was not vegan and never asked about its contents, anyway i digress the vegan soceity awaits!!
