Yeh it's the whole Dalek thing. He got really freaked out by the Dalek. He certainly has something to hide but what?

Maybe he had some sort of more direct contact with Daleks than he hd in the past - eg. being tortured, or held in a Dalek POW camp or something?

Oh that was really sweet of him, though i always kinda guessed he was a nice guy. I've read a couple of interviews and he seemed genuinely kind and enthusiastic.
