Hi Catweasel..just stopped by to say..welcome to h2g2....i don't remember much about it..but..i used to watch Catweasel..i thought it was a childrens programme..rather than a sit-com. but..as the SEM in my name..stands for..Supreme Error Maker..i'm probably wrong....there's been a few people over the years that i've nicknamed Catweasel....

Thank you so very much for the welcome. Reassurring to find people of my own age group here, I will be 42 in a few weeks. Thus far, I have found this site to be so very friendly. I am really looking forward to learning much more about it and even venture an effort to compile something for the guide, we'll see.

Your Welcome Catweasel....i'm a few months older than you..i was 42 in April..i'm not sure what the oldest person here at h2g2 is..but i know there are some are in their 70s..

I found this page useful when i wrote Guide entries..Writing guidelines..@ A53209 ..my first 2 guide entries are currently being 'polished up' by SubEditors for the Guide....

I help in a charity shop..mainly dealing with the books..we recently had a Catweasel annual donated..it was a bit tatty..&..i think it ended up in the bin....i did think about buying it..for a laugh..wish i had now....

It is a pity the Catweasel Annual ended up being thrown out ... I would have been happy to make a charity donation ... the Catweasel series does bring back some really good memories for me.

maybe another one will be donated in the near future..though..it's unlikely..we get some unusual things donated..the most unusual i can think of..off-hand..is a set of false teeth....

It is funny that you mention false teeth, while I was a student in Dundee, I used to supplement my grant by running a market stall in a flea market . I used to get most of the stuff I sold from closing down auctions or lost and found etc. One day I bought a lovely old wooden chest from the British Rail Lost and found office. When I opened it I found 76 sets of falso teeth.

Strangely enough, in terms of income, I did very very well out of those teeth.

Finding my way around here OK, the search engine is pretty good. The only this that is restricted is the amount of time I have had available to me to visit.

I did hovever notice that the book seems very light on entries that relate to the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.

i'm fine thanks..hope you are too....i love helping in the charity shop..we have some great 'stuff' donated..we also get lost & found..from our local large shopping centre..i'll have to get a 'proper' paid job soon..will probably have to stop helping in the 'shop'..i'll miss it....

Hi Catweasel..i've been Awol from h2g2 for a few days....maybe my brain will work better..no more double posts..i hope....the answer to your question was obvious..to anyone who has read 'The Books' which i haven't....to build a community & a guide....i like 'Ask the h2g2 Community'..you can ask about just about any subject & get an answer..if you want to know about the most recent conversations..you could try looking at the statistics here..
