Bad Poetry Thread

I like your poetry very much, WFATsmiley - ok. This is NOT a reflection on your work, but have you thought about doing something on the Bad Poetry thread? If you can write good poetry (and you can), then I bet you could do some really good Bad Poetry, (yes, it's a paradox). Please don't take this the wrong way, it's a definite compliment, not a criticism!

Thanks, Jabs. I have seen the Bad Poetry thread, and have even posted there once or twice. However, I already subscribe to far more threads than is good for me, and really need to cut down, so I decided to unsubscribe from that one.
Some of the pieces there are so bad that they're good, it's true, but some are so, so bad that they're terrible. As I said to el D, what we really need is a Not So Bad Poetry thread.

Jabs, I just saw your comment about Poet Tree on the song titles thread. Was it of any significance? If so, I don't understand it.

Cheers,

WFAT,

I had nosed in to one of the threads on your site out of possible interest, which turned out to be a 2-way discussion with someone (I forget who) in which you expressed puzzlement (temporary I'm sure) that another BBC site had a 'Poet Tree'. You claimed at the time not to have understood it, I think. It was quite near the beginning of the thread, so no wonder you can't remember it. I didn't mean anything nefarious by it.

Ah, I see. That would have been my Good Poetry? discussion with el D. Poet Tree is a poetry quotation thread on the Radio 4 Mornington Crescent board. It was probably el D who was expressing puzzlement, as I persuaded him to subscribe and he was rather surprised by some of the idiotic rules imposed by the mods over there. He's still posting, though, which is good.

Cheers,

Jabs,

I may not have made much of a contribution to your BP thread (other than inadvertently upsetting winternights) but I did bring you frankandsense, who seems to have livened it up no end. It's going great guns now, even though Frank is away on holiday.

FAS is a splendid contributor, WFAT, but so are you. Don't be so modest.

Sorry for the mix-up over the Poet Tree.

Hi Jabs,

You've been very conspicuous by your absence recently. Is everything ok?

Frank has been similarly conspicuous. I'm a bit worried about him, as I know he's the wrong side of seventy and lives on his own.

Hope all is well.
