Sho - employed again!

Hi!
I hope you didn't think I was being rude in the book thread about Estonians and Finns understanding each other?

I don't hear a lot of Finnish, but I'm learning a good few Estonian swear words smiley - yikes

Anyway - I'm currently totally fascinated by Finland. I'm a member of Postcrossing - I've received 100 cards (ish) and sent about the same. 50% of each (possibly nearer 60% of what I've sent) are to/from Finland. Which is quite cool... but smiley - yikes are you all addicted to postcards so much?

And if you don't know about Postcrossing, pls allow me to blow my own trumpet

Hello Sho smiley - smiley

>>I hope you didn't think I was being rude in the book thread about Estonians and Finns understanding each other?<<

Of course not! The difference for someone looking at the languages from the outside is nonexistant anyway. smiley - erm

I had a look at your Entry.

>>The top five countries, in terms of numbers of postcards sent, are: the USA, Finland,...<< smiley - bigeyes

I have no reasonable explanation for this. Except that Finland is one of the most Internet-integrated countries in the world of course, but I didn't know Finns were fascinated with postcards on a massive scale. smiley - erm It must be awfully boring to get one after another from the same place!

What do people generally write on these postcards anyway?
(generally, not just the postcard-happy Finns)

I love to get the cards from Finland, it was odd though in winter that so many of them mentioned the lack of snow

Usually people just write hi and a few words about where they're from. Some write loads - tiny writing, and some just write hi.

It's a lot of fun though.
