Jobs and Geekery
Posted Aug 29, 2006
The job hunt is annoying, but finally bearing some fruit. I hopefully will not ever have to go into a new city under such circumstances ever again. But my indefatigable spirit, my relentless diamond hard resolve, my sheer humility, has been keeping me going. Now I just have to continue to suffer through interviews.
I'm reading this book called "The Botany of Desire" and it's really fascinating. So fascinating, that I haven't finished Les Miserables or it, and in fact have been spending more time writing my novel. Actually, I've been writing more in general now that I'm doing www.fangirlmag.com articles, the more I review brilliant people's work, the more I want to be brilliant people, and not just an old person who dabbles in rpgs and fanfic. Were that the case I would just tattoo "undateable" across my forehead. Although that might interfere with cosplay (JOKING).
Actually, despite my roommate's shock at my proclivity for comic books, British Literature, the Sci-Fi and Biography channels, and my in depth interest in the psychology of Batman in every incarnation, I haven't really been as geeky as usual. I'm separated from my "Geek Box" with all of my assorted nerd-dom, my X-box (painted Jedi blue), and most of my clothes.
So, I've been indulging my more hippy side, hanging about coffee houses, playing guitar in the grass, talking to random people, going to free art gallery openings, skulking about the library and the like. There's ridiculously a lot to do around here. It will be nice to have some money to do it with.
It's funny to think, since I joined hootoo I've crossed the U.S. about six times or so, been on a dozen smaller trips, met up with all sorts of online friends... but never a Researcher!
I hear that my dearest Jade and Zatokun are engaged and am planning to be in attendance at their wedding, probably dressed to the gills in pirate attire. I'm just sayin'....

In a spurt of blood red creativity...
Posted Aug 2, 2006
I've been inspired lately by some lovely muse of writing, and have spent the last weeks pouring into short stories, my novel (which may turn into a series), the upcoming webcomic, and various other projects.
Why I've been graced with such torrents of characters and plot, I do not know, but I'm diving headfirst into it.
A few things become evident right away.
1. I am not a great writer. Yet. There is potential for greatness, but the undisciplined nature of my endevours up until now has stymied me.
2. I'm not terribly funny.
3. Writing and illustrating is most definately what I'm most passionate about and I want to do it forever.
with pen in hand,

I haven't Posted in Over a Year...
Posted Nov 2, 2005
... but seriously, I have like three blogs. Which one to keep up with. I can always post at one and then copy and paste, but each venue is different.
This Halloween I went as Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It rocked.
late and lonely,

October
Posted Oct 14, 2004
This is my favorite time of year... too antsy to do much, I want to read, wander, watch movies, hang out, do everything at once! I've been pretty proud of keeping my blog up lately at my website, and I went to a Nickel Creek concert a couple nights ago.
so tired,

Mighty West Side
Posted Aug 24, 2004
Well Hikers, I'm back from my wandering the West Coast of America, and boy was it a blast. Took in a lot of and
shops, saw my friend kick the bucket,
, Jump the broom, that is. She's married...
... joined the dark side of the force she did.
Now I'm exhausted and happy to be back in good old Michigan, and back with you lovely persons!
