I'm so sorry you're stuck in Houston. I have a few friends who used to live there. (Emphasis on "used to".) I wouldn't know what it's like, personally, as I've never been.

It's good to hear from a fellow Yank! One of the things I love about h2g2 is its international population, but sometimes it gets lonely here in the States.

It is very warm out today, and very muggy. Don't envy me just yet. It's had been an extremely cold summer up until about a week or two ago, when it became brutally hot and humid. I love the heat, and *I'm* miserable!

Where in the SF area were you from? I actually spent 8 or so years of my life in the Bay Area, all told. I lived in San Jose, Campbell, Mountain View, and Belmont. Never moved as far north as The City, although it was always a dream of mine. I compromised by making a best friend who lived in the Sunset District.

Yes I have heard it has been a cold summer, my husbands parents have been in Cardiff for the last month and they have told me people have been complaining, but compared to here they say it's great!

I lived in Vacaville, which is 80 in between Sacramento and the city. Do you know where it is? So why would you leave the Bay area and go down south? Northern is so much better
