I am really, though not much of one. Nice to meet you too, what are you up to these days?

What am I up to? Working in education, studying linguistics... Right now, I am freezing my butt off, (New Zealand winter), watching 'John Doe' on TV and discussing Doctor Who with my 16 year old. (We women multi-task).

Being a summerphobe, I'd love to be down there, frankly, not least for the Middle-Earth scenery.

Hang on... I just remembered an article I read recently, saying that in NZ you can get 'upside-down' maps stating categorically that we northern hemisphere types don't have the monopoly on up

I'm very interested in linguistics too, so I'd love to chat with you about that some time. I can recommend Bill Bryson's book Mother Tongue, which is a definite must on the evolution of English, at least
