What am I up to? Working in education, studying linguistics... Right now, I am freezing my butt off, (New Zealand winter), watching 'John Doe' on TV and discussing Doctor Who with my 16 year old. (We women multi-task).

Being a summerphobe, I'd love to be down there, frankly, not least for the Middle-Earth scenery. smiley - elf

Hang on... I just remembered an article I read recently, saying that in NZ you can get 'upside-down' maps stating categorically that we northern hemisphere types don't have the monopoly on up smiley - biggrin

I'm very interested in linguistics too, so I'd love to chat with you about that some time. I can recommend Bill Bryson's book Mother Tongue, which is a definite must on the evolution of English, at least smiley - smiley

Anyway, got to go eat now, so take care of yourself up there. It never fails to astound me how much women are capable of at one time... smiley - yikes

Hope to talk to you again soon,

Krispy smiley - donut

Let's swap places, as I am a winterphobe!smiley - brr
I have somewhere one of those upside down maps, which we bought in Wellington, when we lived there.
I have read Bill Bryson's book, it's brilliant!smiley - aliensmile Also several of his others, including the funniest, his book about Australia. He really *is* funny, unlike many other alleged humour writers. (P J O'Rourke springs to mind - I just wasted far too many of the heartbeats God gave me reading one of his...smiley - alienfrown
