When The Heart Breaks.

The fire in the corn has been put out.
Go back to your homes and your families who wait there.
The great peril is dead.
On the high seas, sailors crane their necks to the sky.
And toast in celebration the great death.
On the street corners of Marrakesh,
Orphaned children hold pictures of the last diseased.
They rant in joy.
In England, the joy is muted.
They were from this place once.
There is a sadness on every street.
For they know it is dead.
Once so powerful and now expired.
Love so tragic.
Love so dead.

The Warmest Place

She was that most warmest place.
A place for me to hang my sorrow
And drown my fears.
She was that most wonderous comfort.
That thing that gets you home,
That makes you feel wanted.
And alive.
No matter where she was.
No matter where you were.
Old now this man is.
And tired.
No energy to keep up the fight.
And even less to take it lying down.
Where to next?
And for what point?
And for whose side?
