VTTA(NM) B..A.R. 2010

The VTTA best all rounder contest as evaded me throughout my time cycling until last year when I finally clinched it even though I crashed mid season losing me a month's training, Winning the B.A.R. and the Prestige Trophy which is a points based contest over selected events, one at each distance from 10 miles to 12 hours.
This year things have not gone as well and I have only taken fourth in the Prestige Trophy and second or third in the B.A.R. I will know for sure at the Presentation dinner in mid November.

VTTA(NM) B.A.R

In 2008, I once again came second in this event, then in 2009 I failed to finish my 12 hour therefore did not qualify, 1st of February 2010 and I have already entered my first event for this years assault on the title, I have joined The Yorkshire Road club to be among riders that don't cower at the thought of riding the longer distances. Training is going well and I am keeping up with men that would easily have dropped me in previous years. I am really looking forward for the coming season to start. Watch this space and with good weather hopefully you will see some good results.

VTTA (NM) B.A.R.

Well my goal this year (2007) as previously stated was to win the VTTA (North Milands group) Best All Rounder competition. Well I can now inform you of how close I got to my desired result. I took 2nd place, which I supose I should be pleased with considering my years lay off, early season weight problem and chest infection.
A photograph of me receiving my medal and the Sheffield Unity Cup which I won for being Fastest NM rider on handicap in the YCF hundred mile time trial. can be found here... http://www.crazyace.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/1e.html

2007 season

Not a bad season really, after last years lay off I had to shift a lot of wieght, which I did getting down to just below 11 stone. I only entered 13 events but that included a 100 miler and a 12 hour event. The results were satisfactory but not quite as good as I had hoped for. I have ended up 78th in the National Best all Rounder competition which ain't bad for a 57 year old. As for my target of winning the VTTA best all rounder, I shall find at the end of the year when the results are announced. The full results of my seasens events can be found here http://www.crazyace.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/1c.html on my web site.

Cycling 2007 so far

Things are going better this season, My wieght's coming down and my speed is increasing. I have left Birdwell Wheelers and joined the Barnsley Road Club which has filled me with renewed enthusiasm and I am setting my stall out to win the VTTA(NM) Best All Rounder Competition. I have had a third and a second in the two years preceding last year, so this year I want to go one better and win it.
