yes im a goth, not a very old one admittedly in terms of the dress, but in terms of music and general taste i have been for years. the thing about the dress is largely due to where i lived before

Right, I'm all for dressing up in black velvet, in fact the drama of gothicism appeals to me. It's the whole screechy music and devil worship links that bother me. Could you explain? I find different cultures fascinating.

well for one devil worship is a minority but a well publicised one, you know how it is there is nowt sensational or newsbreaking about focusing on mainstream things is there? the goth community is as varied in terms of religions and ethnicity as other communities, i myself am severely lapsed R.C., ive many friends who are R.C., C.ofE., Anglican, Baptist, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Pagans and so on

in regards to the music im not quite sure we mean quite the same thing, im told im if you like a soft one which i dont really mind considering my taste covers all sorts excluding pop sh**e, drum n bass rap and rnb, i do like gregorian chant stuff but im not sure if you meant that

Um, no, I was meaning the scary rock stuff! Although I have heard that Marilyn Manson etc are to goth what Avril and SUM 41 are to punk. I'm really only going by what I've heard in the media, sorry. I'm sure you wouldn't sacrifice a goat....

A question for alt clothes shops at large: Why, when you know full well that your customers are mainly students, and that students are always broke, especially the ones that wear alt clothes, do you persist in being so pricey?

well personally i say each to their own with music, theres nowt scary about rock and metal, it just requires tempering and listening to, ive found anyway. incidentally most goths dont affiliate with marilyn, im not quite sure if thats what you meant or not. Naw goats are so passe lol soz had a half dandys moment

As for the clothes, i suppose its a case of it being a niche in the market and well to survive you have to exploit those around, nowt new businesswise there id have thought. Oh and you are wrong most arent students.

I'm slightly worried about Mr Manson, he looks like a scary, horrible thing (well, let's face it, that's what he wants us to think) and yet I've now heard too recent tracks of his and they are really good. So I'm not so much worried about him, as me. What's happening to my sweet, innocent self!

Well, at the mo' I'm doing AS Drama, which is basically one very wacky director with some good ideas, a bit of shakespeare and a spanish playwright, and lots of play reviewing. But next year I'm doing the Performing Arts BTEC ND, which covers every aspect of the business, acting mainly, but singing (aargh!) dancing, backstage, business producing marketing things. Should be fun!

Medieval? Does that involve reading those beautiful parchment calligraphy doodahs?

i only got 14 months escape out of 19 years and found id been cheated on 3 timnes in that over 8 months with a now ex best friend and a guy id played rugby with also an unknown one the past sucks but ive got to carry on i suppose ?
