I honestly didn't think anyone else would remember Iron Butterfly, but I knew Judas Priest had covered it

You could also have used Zappa's Inna-Gadda-da-Stravinsky, too.
I remember all sorts of bands. Iron Butterfly sticks out, because the local Classic Rock station would play that song every Saturday at 18:00 for several months.
