I've lost my password. How can I retrieve it?
We can email you a new password, assuming you have either your login name or U123456 number, plus the email address that's stored in your Preferences.
To get a new password allocated visit the New Password page and follow the instructions. If you are logged in, you can find a link to this page from your Preferences page.
In other words, go here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/UserDetails?unregcmd=yes
Sorry to trouble you...

I'm logged on okay, but how do I get to change my nickname. Researcher 196230 seems a bit um... impersonal.

Go to the top or bottom of the screen (if you have a white background), click on the button that says 'Preferences' and replace the number with a name. Or, if you want to get your old account back, follow the link I gave earlier... Up to you
And it's no trouble at all
Thanks Amy...

Thanks Amy! Where would we be without you?

P.S. It's still raining!
Thanks Amy...
