You can add your own entries by clicking on the "Add new entry" link from your space. h2g2 entries can be written in plain text or using GuideML, which you can find out more about at the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.>.

Attached to each entry is a conversation forum, here you can talk to people about the entry, and make friends smiley - smiley.
One of the busiest forums is <./>Askh2g2</.> where you can ask anything you want!

If you want to know how to do smileys, you can find out by clicking on this one smiley - smiley (or any of them!).

If you have any questions/comments about h2g2, or just want a chat, click reply and I'll see it later. smiley - smiley

Hi Jonny --

I am looking to work on my writing skills, and I find that I write best when I see material posted that I find incredibly interesting that I can relate to -- something that will really engage my mind and cause me to write something that is really interesting. To give you some idea of what my interests are, I have spent a lot of time writing posts for a website called www.yesterdayland.com, which is a website regarding childhood memories. This is a really great website, because almost every week, I see posts from others that I can spend hours writing about my own memories -- from peeling Elmer's Glue off the palms of my hands (as a kid, of course) to a favorite toy that I had as a kid, but lost and never found again.

Please let me know if there is a section of h2g2 that has a forum where thought provoking ideas can lead to good writing. Please also let me know if it is possible to participate in creating and editing new entries for the Guide. I also like to review other people's writing, so that I can come up with new ideas for my own writing.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Wheat Ridge Researcher

Hi Wheat Ridge Researcher!

I'd suggest having a look at the <./>Contribute</.> section. There you will find details on how to add an entry to the Guide. I'd also suggest you look at Writing-Beginners to give you a few hints.

If you want to know how to collaborate with other researchers, I'd suggest having a look at PeerReview, or Writing-Collaborative.

I'd recommend browsing the Guide (you can click on any of the Life, the Universe or Everything links) to see the sort of style of writing we tend to use.

You could also contribute to the guide by joining in the conversations at the weeks talking point. This week we're discussing Great Fairs and Theme Parks at A738650.

If you have any more questions, just ask! smiley - biggrin

Jonny
