Sorry. Didn't see you there. smiley - smiley Pleased to meet you.

Yes, finding your way around can be tricky to start with; this place is bigger than it looks. I'm one of the middleaged boys, myself, on both counts. Also "retired", though not permanently, I hope.

As for finding something interesting to say, you have to sort that one out for yourself smiley - winkeye, but it's usually finding the right conversations that's half the battle. Have you tried subscribing to askh2g2 ( A148907 )? That's one of the best places to go to meet the locals and get involved.

Anyways, where are you from, and what kind of stuff floats your boat?

Hello again.

I'm originally from South London, myself, but currently domiciled in Llanelli in South Wales, where I ran A village post office for seventeen years, until I opted for closure about four months ago. Currently assessing my alternatives at the moment.

My main passions in life are philosophy and ancient history, particularly of Egypt and the Near East, but I'm an amateur in both fields; but like you say it helps to keep the little grey cells active.

I do a bit of gardening too, but as much out of necessity as choice - I've got about a quarter acre here and it's been sadly neglected for a few years, so I'm in the process of hacking the triffids back into some semblance of order; and the "lawn" has got more lumps in it than badly made custard smiley - sadface Still it gets me out in the fresh air.
