Considering there are over 100,000() researchers on H2G2, and each has (in average) contributed to at least five threads, I'd say there was a few I'm not in
And I've given up for the day...illegal amps appear where hey shouldn't anyway

You remembered the semicolon? A link for your post here should look like this:

You must find and replace *all* &'s, so if it's a "show=20&skip=60&latest=1" link, it should be written like this:

You can look at the link (hoover over it) for "This is a reply to this Posting" or the button for "Previous Posting" or in frames all the links in the left frame. Shows the post number as #pXXXXXXX.
And it's not because of the question marks if there's something wrong.
You can't use &'s, <'s and >'s, but every other characters should be okay.
(To make a <, you'll need to write < and to make a >, write > )
